THE FURIOUS

11/10

An instant classic in the martial arts genre, it’s like Taken meets John Wick meets The Raid.

Silly? Yep.
Over the top awesome? Also yep!!

Picture was gorgeous. Sound kinda disappointing but fine, just not demo stuff.
Very interested to pick this up; heard only good things about it. However I might just order the lionsgate limited 4k disc (announced recently) which includes an atmos mix and subsequently do a d2d on k.

Just finished watching this. One of my highly anticipated titles (along with obsession). Really creepy atmospherics, borderline claustrophobic at times. Apparently this is a YouTube/online concept which was fleshed out by the filmmakers. Did manage to capture my attention. Will need subsequent viewing for sure, ymmv. Nice immersive mix (atmos) and looked awesome as well.

Interesting film for sure. The YouTube series is better in that it’s a fleshed out story but I’m sure the future films will cover it all and expand upon it. I enjoyed this one.

Watched this classic western last night. The transfer looked great. Beautiful black and white restoration. I wonder if this is the same transfer as the Criterion edition. I can't imagine it could look any better.

I just watched 'Pressure" last night. Great movie! WWII film about General Eisenhower's key decision on the D-Day invasion and the men who were in charge of forecasting the weather.

I’m assuming Backrooms doesn’t have the 15 minutes additional from the Everything Must Go version that’s coming to disc? Am I incorrect? Thanks :)

I’ll let someone else confirm, but my understanding is the Everything Must Go content is available everywhere and will be uploaded to YouTube for free viewing. The disc will have hours of exclusive Extras.

EDIT: No currently available digital versions appear to include the Everything Must Go content. This could change in time.

Yeah it’s why I asked bc I want it in whatever version I buy, and the disc will have it. Guess this is one of those times I go physical over K.

Watched “Anatomy of a Murder” (1959) last night in black/white 4K HDR10 with Dolby Atmos. Stars include Jimmy Stewart, Lee Remick, Ben Gazzara, George C. Scott. Directed by Otto Preminger. If you like courtroom dramas with plenty of light comedy and some solid jazz music, it’s terrific. Judge Weaver was played by Joseph Welch, a real lawyer practicing at Hale & Dorr in Massachusetts. He became famous when he took on Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn in 1954 and famously said, “Have you no decency sir?” Welch died within a week of the movie’s premiere.

Rewatched Serenity, the last time it was on a much smaller Quad L-ite sub-sat system with one sub. This time out on the 4 subs and the difference in bass, wow!

The opening re-entry scene had my sofa vibrating as if I was on the ship, absolutely delicious. Will have to remember it for the demo real as it was a pleasant surprise.

I also got caught up on the Predator series ready for Badlands, I’d not seen Predators before which I think was a lot better than I expected and Prey was more of the same. You do realise how bad 80’s audio was compared to know when you watch them in order. Just very loud and shrill and not a lot of detail, we’ve certainly come a long way!

You don’t really notice the progress until you go back, you forgot that only having stereo was a thing or 4:3 TV’s. If we haven’t all killed each other I wonder where things will be in another 30 years.

Millers Crossing, an early Coen brothers movie, was an interesting watch. Before that, Bronson as mentioned above was quite a performance.

Watched Hush again yesterday. I use it as a demo for GTG'ers.
It is my #1 go to for an infrasonics demo.
I have it on disc (full color)but I noticed K has it for $9.99 so I picked it up... only the bw version tho...
Great movie guy's

Miller's Crossing was exhausting, like Uncut Gems. Felt like I was just being yelled at for 2 hours.
