US Digital Releases for July & August 2026

By the Light of the Silvery Moon (1953) in HD with DTS-HD Master Mono from Warner Bros

Pre-Order
One Night Only (2026) in SDR/HF from NBCUniversal
For some reason the App appears to indicate that One Night Only is featured in 4k cinematic. But when you actually click the title in the pre-order section, it indicates 4k-SDR (standard).

Edit: it seems to be fixed now. Correctly indicating 4k Cinematic.

Heavy Metal 2000 in HD with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 from Sony:

Wow! Just wow! When I saw The Italian Job arrive earlier today I checked my "Missing 4K Upgrades" list going back to 2022. The very first title on the list in Heavy Metal. My next thought was "Heavy Metal 2000 is also missing its HD upgrade, but I wouldn't even bother asking for that." Yet, here it is. Obviously no competition for the original which still sorely needs a 4K upgrade. But, is this a sign it's on the way??? Regardless, I'll take this for what it is and continue to hope.

Heavy Metal in 4K would be amazing. That movie is one of my guilty pleasures. I love it!

FWIW Heavy Metal is currently on sale for $4.99. I wasn’t going to buy it unless they added the 4K (I actually have the disc of this one) but for $5 I couldn’t pass it up.

Stop the presses! Solaris 4K and Stalker 4K are releasing on disc in Germany August 6. I just preordered both on Amazon.de:

Solaris:
Stalker:
EDIT:

Stop the presses again! Early arrivals show that these discs are AI upscales, from a boutique label known for such things. I'm attempting to cancel my order, and suggest others read this thread and decide what works for you.

Don’t cancel! I think it’ll be nice improvements.

Now this I am excited for, having had to watch a few episodes in streaming.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this also the first HBO series title that has gotten 4K cinematic treatment from K?

I don't have a Strato K yet, but definitely interested to hear reviews for original series such as this, where I think 4K cinematic really is a game changer in terms of offering series original content in an enhanced format that no other platform can replicate (I.e vs 4K cinematic films that can still be viewed in as good or better quality in a theatre.......)

Interrupted Melody (1955) in HD with DTS-HD Master Stereo from Warner Bros

The Beast of the City (1932) in HD with DTS-HD Master Mono from Warner Bros

The Master of Ballantrae (1953) in HD with DTS-HD Master Mono from Warner Bros

This is the first HBO original series I’ve purchased in cinematic. I have all 3 seasons of HOTD on K. I haven’t bothered about any other series as Im mainly into movies. I will be checking this out shortly (both C_Dv/ C_HDR).

I believe this is the first of the Shout/Golden Princess titles to receive a subpar release (missing HDR/DV). K got the early titles then stopped as the releases kept rolling out (many HD). Now they're getting a new one but SDR only.

I'm curious to other owner's thoughts: Is a subpar release from K better than no release? Personally, I think I'm still firmly in the "get the best assets or don't get it" crowd. Given that K skipped releases and is stepping back in for this one, I fear its sales could be used as an indicator of interest when the release has been handicapped. If I wanted this title, I'd have to wait for the disc.
