Not a benefit to me in my set-up. Engaging the filter on my PJ (JVC Z8) reduces brightness by 25%-30%. I'm sure others will see that as a positive.SDR movies are good and all but you lose the WCG

So, now that is all clear, we can say madVR is the better one..
Just kidding guys!!
Agee. Same plan for me. Plan to buy the Luma on pre-order and hopefully sell my Lumagen. However I fear the value of my Lumagen is going to tank. With Luma hopefully on the way soon, things are going to get very interesting in the VP world. I currently have a Lumagen, but will be pre-ordering a Luma the second I can. I am thrilled to see more competition in the market.

May I ask what is seen as superior on the Luma vs. the Lumagen? I visited the Luma's website when it launched and it seemed to list every limitation of the Lumagen (no 8K, no 4K/120, no HDR 4:4:4, etc.) while having fewer features. It's great that there's a new processor coming and I think there's a tremendous future for it, but just curious why you'd go away from Lumagen? (Doing theater update so genuine interest.)Agee. The website hasn't been updated, but after the Strato K came out, they tested the Luma for HDMI 2.1 input and it was successful, so it should be able to handle HDR 4:4:4 with DTM and 4K/120 passthrough (no DTM). That new network interface for the Lumagen looks nice but didn't seem worth $500 to me. I have a home assistant server running and just added a relatively inexpensive Serial to IP adapter and there is a good existing Lumagen HA integration. I can now control the Lumagen via HA and the integration has many useful parameters that are monitored. Wish I discovered this sooner. The website hasn't been updated, but after the Strato K came out, they tested the Luma for HDMI 2.1 input and it was successful, so it should be able to handle HDR 4:4:4 with DTM and 4K/120 passthrough (no DTM). For me, I want to have the flexibility to pass more than the 18Gbps limitation of the current Lumagen. Also, although the new IP to RS232 option has improved the UI greatly, they promised Control4 integration with it, but so far, that has not happened. The Luma is starting out with an awesome UI and the creator told me directly he will write a C4 driver for it. Lastly, although I very much like the Lumagen, I cannot afford to even think about the new Artisan. Instead, I rather invest in something new.
I have set up my system with a matrix so that I can switch between the Lumagen and Luma until I know that I prefer the latter and can sell the former (probably for pennies).
No it’s not. That seemed to be an accidentally posted page that’s since been taken down. Also, their primary domain is hdfury.com, not info.
Scroll down the page. It is listed there in comparison to other 2.1 HDFury devices. No it’s not. That seemed to be an accidentally posted page that’s since been taken down. Also, their primary domain is hdfury.com, not info.
Not sure if you're experiencing the same issue as I was but look here to see if anything is similar. All of this started after the latest update:My Strato-K updated to the newer firmware today. If anything the HDMI issues are worse. Still have to use HDMI 2.0 mode for any stability. Using 2.1 loses sync easily and it never really comes back until you hard reset the Strato player.
I'm using HDMI 2.0 and have been since getting the K. I should try changing back to default just to see what happens?I don’t think its exactly the same issue. If I set it at use external scalar mode, and hdmi 2.1, it seems to work ok until I try and play an 8k title. Then it permanently loses sync until I do a hard reset. It seems to work fine if you use the default mode switching, the one without external scalar. Then it just sends everything as 8k 4:2:0 since it does the scaling itself but I don’t prefer that mode. So I use HDMI 2.0 and just forget about 8k for now.
