Store "Hole" Feedback

Looks like Lionsgate owns it now so don’t hold your breath. Long list of stuff missing from Lionsgate still.

For electronic sale, it's currently licensed through Samuel Goldwyn Films, and we do not have an agreement with them at this time. Perhaps in the future that will change, but nothing is imminent.

Hi everyone
I noticed that there is only an SD version of
Virus (1999) when there is an HD version streaming.

Will Pitch Black ever be on 4k? (listed as HD only at this time)

Same question for Cowboys vs Aliens (currently HD only)

Thanks

Virus: Yeah, there’s a ton of content on the store languishing in SD. You can submit a request to K’s content team and if there’s enough interest it might be upgraded in time. <movies@kaleidescape.com>

Pitch Black: No, not anytime soon. The 4K is exclusively available on disc from boutique labels and digital is limited to HD. This is very common nowadays and represents a substantial chunk of 4K Catalog Upgrades.

Cowboys vs Aliens: Same as above, with the caveat that the Extended Cut is only HD on disc (even in the 4K package) so K’s digital offering matches for that cut.

I'm curious why The Accountant 2 [available on Gruv as a Pre-Order] has not shown up on K as a Pre-Order. The Studio is MGM (Warner).

I see plenty of 4K versions of Liongsate films on iTunes now that are not popping up on K. The recent release of Way of the Gun would be a nice one to see on K. Still waiting on The Mist as well unfortunately. Still can’t believe we haven’t seen Drive from Sony. Nightmare on Elm Street. I could go on and on…………….

Amazon has the listing up for the 7-film 4K A Nightmare on Elm Street series that is also expected on digital. I know July is too early for Halloween decorations, but is it too early for Halloween 4K Catalog Updates on K disappointment? Because I have zero hope.

Fletch Lives ...still in SD only? Fletch is HD. Confess, Fletch is 4K. These need to be sold as a set, all in HD/4K, methinks.

Fletch and Fletch Lives are only available in HD both physically and digitally. Confess Fletch is a K-Quality Exclusive as it has never been released on disc.

Get in a request for Fletch Lives in HD to: movies@kaleidescape.com

Don't know if this has already been reported, but "Face/Off" is only 4K SDR on the K store but 4K HDR on streaming sites. The disc is also HDR, but it’s a Kino Lorber studio disc.

I'm a fan of the 1960 Movie, The Time Machine. It's available on all streaming platforms in HD. Any reason K-scape only has the SD version?
Don't know but probably because of the same reason most of the "Nightmare on Elm Street" movies are only in SD. I hear the whole "Nightmare on Elm Street" collection is getting a 4K upgrade on disc later this year. I hope that means that the Kaleidescape store will also get them in 4K?

There’s nothing to report; this was on purpose. HDR costs more to license, and during 2023/2024 K opted for SDR only on dozens of titles. In hindsight, this was during the V/E/M development, so they were likely pinching pennies. I’d love to see them go back and address these titles (~80 all together), but our only hope is likely future Dolby Vision updates that include new HDR options.

The Canada store is missing Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense which has been available on the US store since at least January.
