I think Dark Crystal and Labyrinth were available until Shout! licensed the rights, I do have Labyrinth 4k on K that I bought before it was removed.
Correct. The Dark Crystal was available in 4K HDR and Labyrinth was limited to 4K SDR on K. When they were licensed by Shout they were taken off the market for a number of weeks before being returned to digital stores in 4K Dolby Vision in early February 2024. They were released on 4K UHD Blu-ray in November 2024. They have yet to return to K.

With items like this from boutique studios, I have to wonder if the person at K responsible for acquiring titles is as informed about such re-releases as the people who closely following this stuff. I'm not saying that the person or persons isn't as knowledgeable.

Far and Away (NBCUniversal) is in the K store in HD only. Shout! Factory released a 4k collectors edition on Dec. 17th. Any chance we’ll see a 4k update in the K store any time soon?

Digital rights still appear to be with Universal, which means Shout! likely owns the 4K for now, For what it’s worth, this once has been called out of one of the most disappointing 4K updates of 2024.

Shout! Factory and Vinegar Syndrome have released some great 4k titles that are desperately needed.

Ferris Bueller and Lawrence Of Arabia need HDR upgrades. Of course there’s that Star Trek Director’s Edition which is spectacular but not on the store.

Criterion…yeah a long list to be sure.

It's Black History Month. Now would be a good time to get Roots in HD
I've been trying to figure this one out for a bit, and I think I got it... The K content team, so focused on the theatrical experience, don't have a calendar hanging on the wall. Months? Seasons? Holidays? "What do you mean by 'topical' releases?"

I'll see your Roots HD upgrade and raise you The Last Dragon upgrade to 4K Dolby Vision. Balance out the 70's dramatic trauma with 80's Kung-Fu cheese. Let's do it K. Sho'nuff!

I’d still like to see The Fog 1980. It has been available on 4K Blu-Ray for over 2 years.
This isn't available to digital stores. Lionsgate has the digital rights to HD while the 4K UHD Blu-ray is published in the US by Shout Factory.
