Remote 3 kickstarter campaign

@rafaelsmith, no need to apologize, I get the frustration, just trying to not focus on political personalities, it alienates supporters on the other side, whatever that side is, and we'd prefer to focus on what we all have in common, which on this forum is A/V, and K in particular.

Anyone get their UC3 yet?

No dice for me yet, doesn't seem like they've shipped any remotes or docks to the US in general yet too, everyone I've seen that's received shipping notices has been somewhere in Europe. Pure speculation here, but I have a feeling it may have to do with tariffs and country of manufacture/origin. Believe most of the parts are from China, but it's assembled in Europe, so they may be figuring out how that all comes into play for import purposes in the US.

Not yet. I'm shipping #58, but they're not going 1-2-3, they're shipping batches grouped by destination. I should be in the first US-bound batch, hopefully soon.

They’ve been pretty up front about the process and while the estimate was “end of year 2024”, they’re still pretty close to on track, at this point still planning to start shipping within the next month or so. They did have one setback with the packaging, but were able to minimize the delay it caused.
This didn’t age well.😅

I backed the NEEO remote on Kickstarter and by the time it arrived I had forgotten I backed it. I think that was just over 2 years. It was awesome for a year or so, then Control 4 bought them and bricked it overnight.

That's awful. Did C4 offer one of their systems or a heavy discount to replace the bricked remote?

Maybe not but they’ve still been upfront about the delays with the glue and waiting for the container of packing materials, etc.

I’m not sweating it.
There was also a delay in shipping (reported in their last update) when they discovered an issue with the microphone on the remote, which required them to go back to the manufacturer and get them to adjust their process.

Was that not the glue delay I mentioned, or was this separate? I thought it was a matter of their cleaning process before closing up the case was eating away the glue holding the microphone? Or am I conflating two things?

Possibly - Glue/Soldering, Tomayto/Tomato 😁

In the latest update they provided today, they gave additional clarification around why the early shipments were all to European countries, it was so that if any of the early units they shipped caused them to notice any additional issues, they could resolve them quicker before starting to ship further across the globe, which makes sense. Sounds like nothing was discovered, so they are starting shipping without regard to country next week, with the goal of 600 units per week. I should be in this first batch based on the shipping number they gave me, so looking forward to finally checking out the remote in the next week or two!

Jeez you guys are patient. My clients bitch at me when their control systems aren't installed a week after they give me a deposit check to order the equipment. LOL. They would absolutely revolt if it took 1/10th as long as you guys have waited for these things. I am fascinated to see how the production units work, though. Affordable, actually GOOD, remotes are the key to a good owner experience for almost anything beyond just a Roku and a TV, in my opinion.

There’s a massive difference between a user backing a kickstarter remote and a dealer selling a product to an end user.
