Realizing I may be asking a question obvious to everybody else, may I ask when one is charged for the pledge amount? Is it at the time of making the pledge, or when the product ships?

If you were in the actual Kickstarter campaign, it would have been charged when the Kickstarter window closed. There is apparently now a post-Kickstarter window users can purchase in after the initial campaign, I'm not sure when that would be closing.

I’m not sure which level I opted in, but they did charge for immediately. That was a few weeks back.

@thrillcat curious if you're still happy with your Circle 2? would love to see the UI you've created for it and hear your impressions so far.

Definitely still a fan, though Anthem’s HA integration seems a little hit or miss at times with my older AVM60.

My UI is extremely basic. I’ll have to get some screenshots next time I’m at a computer.

was hoping the company would put out something around CES or show some prototypes to industry people or youtubers. Haven't seen anything. Hope to hear more updates from them soon... getting close to when first units should be shipping i believe.

I've reviewed it, had them on a live stream, and more. I purchased the remote, and I preordered the new one. Customers are just as important to them as reviewers. I became kind of the "go-to reviewer" on this remote because I'm the guy who actually bought it instead of asking for a free one. A lot of other reviewers have lashed out at me thinking I somehow got a free unit, they've complained to the company for playing favorites. I'll show you my receipt if you want. I didn't get any special favors. I just saw the potential and backed it.

I respect that, not just because it benefits me. :)

And for the record, the stuff I review on our channel is mostly things I've purchased, not things that are given to me. If I was provided a sample and asked to review it, I state that, otherwise I bought it with my money because I did the research and selected the best fit for me.

But yes, I'm anxious to get mine. My backer number is in the 60s, so I should get it pretty early this time around and be able to start checking it out.

I'm anxious as well. Any idea how long it takes to ship through the initial batches @thrillcat ... I'm far behind you at 4995?

Andy
I'm not exactly sure. For the Remote Two I missed the Kickstarter but ordered after the campaign ended. I believe those began shipping in August(?) and I received mine around Thanksgiving, but there were far fewer units being produced and shipped with that model.

You're a skilled, and knowledgeable AV enthusiast, your contributions to this forum and other media are self-evident, and I'm confident no one participating here would question your integrity, I know I don't.

I appreciate that and wasn’t referring to anyone in particular. It was more pointing out that when “the usual suspects” don’t review something, the audience generally accuses the guy who does of being “in the bag” when it’s often the other way around. Some folks won’t review something they don’t get for free.

I've rarely see Kickstarter campaigns ship on time.
They’ve been pretty up front about the process and while the estimate was “end of year 2024”, they’re still pretty close to on track, at this point still planning to start shipping within the next month or so. They did have one setback with the packaging, but were able to minimize the delay it caused.

Where do you guys see this information?

My backer number is in the top 15. But I'm sure mine probably will be shipped in a batch with 100 other. 😆 I''m going to sell mine as soon as it arrives. I had the Circle 2 but sold it. It's a great remote. I loved that it was highly customizable. But I also hated that it was highly customizable. I decided to go with the Ava cinema remote.

In your Kickstarter account, click in to the project under Backed Projects. Scroll to the bottom of the page and under “you backed this project” click “view pledge” and your backer number is at the very bottom.

I’m #68.
