New Strato E owner - reactions & questions

@Danzilla31 if everything is up and running now, there's nothing you need to do. The "one more thing" screen in the app was just intended to work around a case on standalone Strato V, M, E players only where the onscreen setup didn't update itself when you finished the registration in the app, so it left some confusing instructions on the screen. But if you're using your player now, it's totally fine.

I'm more troubled by you folks who are saying that you saw nothing on screen when you first hooked up your players. Again, this is no problem for you if things are working now, but it's a potential problem for other new customers, who should see the onscreen setup instructions once the player is powered up. @Topmetom, just to doublecheck, you also saw nothing at all on the screen when your player was first connected?

Mike, I have an unopened E here, I'll open it and test the setup later today.

Jim

Thanks, Jim! I've gone through initial setup on the V many times in testing the app's registration flow, and I've never seen it come up with a bland screen, but I'd appreciate your data point.

I saw the on screen set up instructions right away what I meant by saying I didn't see anything is that I did not see the one more thing screen sorry for the miscommunication on my end

No asked me to use the qr code on the screen then that was it

OK, thanks! I was just confused because you earlier said "agreed" to dnoonie's post:

I never saw it either...in fact I never saw any on screen display until I activated through the app, all I saw on screen was black.

But if you had the QR code on the screen, then it was not black.

Hi guys. First post. I am waiting on my Strato E to arrive (hopefully next week). I also ordered one of the remotes. I had been contemplating a Kscape purchase for two years now. I was wasting time and decided to browse the site (again) and saw the $3000 Strato E which finally pushed me over the edge. I am happy they didn’t neuter the Strato E in terms of output quality compared to the V.

I've had mine about 6 weeks now. I'm very happy with the whole experience. As someone that prefers using my A/V gear, to testing/setting up my A/V gear, the Strato E has been a great, low maintenance, addition!

I have an LG G5 oled TV and an LG UST Projector. Since I am buying only one Strato E right now, how much of a hassle will it be to keep switching between the two?

I am not talking about physically. I am talking about adjusting settings. For instance, my projector does not do Dolbyvision. Also tone mapping and chroma upsampling might be different. I read that support page on Kaleidescape website and it seems it might require changing settings every time I movie it.

Welcome! Go ahead and get the Kaleidescape Mobile App downloaded so you're ready to use it for setup. Once your player arrives, you'll be able to use the app to create your account and register the player.

Do pay attention to the "One More Thing" screen at the end of the setup flow.

Mike, I’ve been adding more systems at different locations. I read the article you posted on the mobile app. But if my wife is on the app at one location and I’m on the app at a second it boots one of us out. Am I missing something should we have separate logins? Thanks !

I’m not aware of anything that would cause you to be “booted out” by using the app in multiple locations. Can you tell me which versions of the app you’re using (iOS or Android or both) and what exactly the message or behavior that you see is?

Also, please note that I’m on vacation all this week so I might be slow to respond.

I just received and set up the Strato E. I just want to verify that if I want to play 24 fps on my LG G5, I have to set "allow display changes" in video settings, right?

Thanks
