New Strato E owner - reactions & questions

this long thread was originally in the News posting about the launch of the E. Moved it to it's own thread. We're trying to keep follow-on discussions out of the News / Announcement posts.

Carry on... :)
No worries I actually tried to move some of this myself but I think once a post has been on there for awhile I can't delete it at least I couldn't thank you for getting me set up in the right place 🙂

Not a Strato E owner, I got a used Strato S recently.

Earned its keep today as I had an internet outage (I think my cable modem is fried) and I could still watch movies :-)
Even bought one as the outage was intermittent and watched it today (Yesterday, fun movie).

Welcome to the Kaleidascape family! Sounds like your enjoying this as much as I am 😁.

Yeah the fact that you can watch what you download even if the Internet goes down is just another + for Kaleidescape in my book

Welcome!

Good call on the movie "Yesterday," I really enjoyed that movie when I finally got around to watching it, much better than I thought it would be when I first ordered it.

Put my order in for a Strato E as well yesterday. Watching Final Destination Bloodline on my Appke TV last week with okay-ish quality tipped me to switch over to Kscape together with the fact that Shouts! Hong Kong films from the 80s/90s are being released. Don’t have to wait now for physical media to be released months later.
I was already playing with the idea of a Kscape for some years but the initial costs always struck me off. Now hoping that the servers will be a bit more affordable any day in the future!
I have quite a good setup with a JVC-NX9, StormAudio and Lumagen 5348 so can’t wait for the Strato to arrive. Is there any backlog on delivery of the units or are they generally on stock?

Mine got here in about 10 days no stock issues for me at all. If you don't mind me asking with whome did you order from. A dealer or an online vendor like Audio Advice?

I just looked on Audio Advice and they have units in stock so I think units are available as of now I don't think you should be getting any delays. Welcome to Kscape!!! I'm looking forward to your thoughts after you recieve your Strato 🙂

I want to add my voice here, as I feel also extremely impressed by the whole ecosystem since purchasing a Strato E two weeks ago.

The biggest surprise for me is how much fun I have just cataloging my DVD and Blu-ray titles and upgrading to rewatch my favorite movies in the highest quality possible. The D2D program is just amazing. Now I wonder if I'm going to end up cataloging my almost 3000 discs hehe!

Hey welcome! I love your screen name 😆

What blu ray drive do you use for cataloging? I have one but a fellow member said he tried that one and it didn't work so I may need to find a different driver to use

Really great to see all the happy new users. This forum is the second best tool to bundle with your new Kaleidescape.

The best tool, however, is the Wish List. Movies you’re interested in, put em in the wish list and you’ll be notified if/when they go on sale.

Hey forgive my total noobness where is the wish list located at? 🤦😆😁

Totes agree. I use the wish list as a queuing system for new 4k movies that I want to rent at some point in time. When K does their weekly new additions, I look at the new additions and determine if I want add any of those items to the wish list. When I'm ready to watch a movie, usually one every Saturday night, I go to my wish list and sort by oldest to newest and I download the movie that is next up.

Hum!?
The problem I have with the Wish List is that when it goes beyond a page I loose the "Build Your Bundle..." option. The way I'm getting around that is to filter or do a search then build my bundle. I also remove and add things I want to buy from my Wish List to get them to sort to the top to make it easier to build my purchase bundle.
