New kOS release supports disc cataloging on Strato

if you have the same product, can you answer my question above?
Sorry. I didn’t see your post. It’s pretty clear which is which. The cable splits to two USB-A connectors and one has a thicker cable than the other. The thicker one is the usb 3.0 end meant for data transfer and the thinner one is usb 2.0 meant for power.

However, today, in the interest of simplifying my connections, I tried using just using the USB C cable and worked fine. So the drive is connected to a USB switch with usb-C, and then I output to both the Strato and my computer from the switch. The switch also has an option for a power connection, if necessary, but I’m not using that either. So, I think you’d be fine either way, but it’s worth noting the included cables are super short.

I was happy to hear about this, then i realized that this is only for bluray disc, which most of my collection are 4ks. Sigghhh

My strato doesn’t go into disc recognition mode anymore. I cataloged over 1,500 discs since July and I tried two different drives. These aren’t the approved drives by Kscape tho. Any recommendations? I tried restarting my strato a few times.

Ciao Forza!

, Might not help ur use case, but with my new Strato C and Terra Prime, I used these:

Only issue is that with the few new 4K ultra discs also purchased from Amazon, including No Time To Die, the UPC codes don't populate. I haven't tried other discs yet-too busy watching movies and trying different settings/options, for the above with my Trinnov Alt 32.

Mille Grazie!

Hi. I thought then external drive needed to have a power source outside of the strato.. is that not true?

Hi Kay!

I have the same understanding as you stated. I ran power to the switch from my PS5's front USB port, just cuz it was handy.

Thank you very much

I was able to get it work again by restarting both my Strato and Terra from the web interface.

This combo also catalogues several 4K discs that I tried. No failures.

Thank you very much

I see some of you had success with 4K UHD Blu-ray discs. I have an external Toshiba HD-DVD-ROM drive and about 400 HD-DVDs. What are the odds the K system will recognize them as DVDs and give me D2D? Should I try it for the sake of science? :)
