Movie Updates

Marty Supreme (2025) HDR updated with audio and video improvements.

Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) HDR updated with audio and video improvements (and added extras in HD).

Hoping IT: Welcome to Derry Season 1 eventually receives a Dolby Vision/HDR upgrade. The 4K UHD disc release has it.

The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare (2024) HDR version updated

Changes in this update:
  • Audio and video improvements

Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) HDR version updated

Changes in this update:
  • Audio and video improvements

Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) HDR version updated

Changes in this update:
  • Additional audio tracks (English (DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1, English (PCM Stereo))

Apollo 13 (1995) HDR updated with audio and video improvements.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019) HDR updated with audio and video improvements.

Was hoping the audio enhancement for Apollo 13 would include the DtS:X track. It’s a borderline reference track.
You would think that would make sense but Universal just will not give us any lossless object soundtracks from that era of UHD releases. Of the 23 films I’ve transferred which I’ve marked up as audio downgrades most are Universal, some are the old Sony releases which are also still only SDR, a couple from Paramount missing (Gladiator being a big one) and Robocop because it’s an Arrow exclusive on disc.

There are a lot more but most of my Universal stuff from that time is also only 3D/HD on disc and I didn’t upgrade to UHD but essentially up to sometime in 2020 all their stuff is missing Atmos/DTSX. The one exception being Jurassic Park/World series purely because they re-released on UHD and changed from DTSX to Atmos.

If you go on the store and check Universal films and arrange in release order you can see the change point, 1917 looks to be the first 4K Atmos release, everything else is DTS HD 5.1 and worse than HD version which has 7.1 or Atmos/DTSX.

Unless Universal’s digital department get given the better disc audio assets rather than the lossy DD+ Atmos all the streaming services use we are SOL and I find it annoying every time I see it because they could easily fix it!

My presumption is that Universal had a marketing partnership with DTS to provide titles in the format, and that has since expired and it’s cheaper/easier to provide a single format (since Dolby is a requirement).

Does anyone know when this title lost the Theatrical Version in 4K HDR???

All three cuts were previously available in 4K HDR just like every other digital store. Was this as part of this new update? I assume the update will trigger two separate downloads but until I know what happened to the Theatrical Version, I think I leave this one on standby.

The update will trigger two separate downloads for the Director's Cut and Special Edition versions. But for me it just goes 'Content already downloaded' so these two does not update for me. Original downloaded Sep 1 2023 of all three versions in 4K HDR.

Close Encounters has been three separate downloads since I bought it a year or two ago. Perhaps the theatrical version is simply not updated at this point?

Anyone have any idea why I can't get the Close Encounters update downloaded. I own the movie in 4K but every time I try to get the update, nothing appears as a download. It's the first time I have encountered this issue.

If you access the movie listing (below) and click on Show Features it no longer lists Theatrical Version as available in 4K.

I had same issue. Deleted the movie, then downloaded from scratch. The updated version downloaded successfully.

Did you get 2 or 3 versions from your new download? Based on the revised listing, I would assume 3 versions were deleted and only 2 were downloaded. But, hopefully it's just an error in the listing?

111-JEDI,

Thanks for the info. I infact did the same thing. I deleted it from my Terra Prime server and redownloaded it. It provided the Directors cut and Final cut. So, I must assume the updates were included since the Title no longer shows 'update available'.

Ok, so this confirms that this update eliminated the Theatrical Cut? Hopefully this is temporary. All others, you’ve been warned.

I’ve been having the same issue, also a first for it not to work. I didn’t delete my file and checked here first, I’m glad I did. Looking at my details on the system itself, I still have all 3 versions in 4K. I’m going to keep them there until this resolves.
