Movie Updates

US Disc release is also May 19. But I'm glad you guys are getting earlier on K.
Sorry I said June 19th but meant June 15th as I got the two muddled up so ours isn’t due until next month! Also not available on Apple in 4K yet either I should probably stop drawing attention to it in case it’s a mistake 😂.

I just picked up the upgrade of Speed Racer! It looked crazy colorful in 1080, egad, what will the HDR look like!
I wish Cloud Atlas, also from WB, would get a K' 4k UHD release, it's been available on 4k UHD disc since Dec 23 2025.

Happy movie viewing!

I just received another big batch of HD updates, all of which had audio and/or video improvements, and most of which had extras.
And, I'm using a Strato C. So, updates are coming through that are not exclusive to the V, E and M.

These included:

Booksmart
Vice
If Beale Street Could Talk
They Shall Not Grow Old
The Front Runner
Widows
Year of the Dragon
A Private War
Big Little Lies Season 2
The Wire Season 4
The Wire Season 5
Deadwood Season 1
Deadwood Season 2
Deadwood Season 3
The Sopranos Season 2

I highly recommend fans of Extras to monitor the "Recent HD Additions for Strato V, E & M" section of the K Store:
To be clear, this is the grouping found on the home page of the Store, not the HD Compatibility page specific to your library. There are MANY titles/updates appearing in the above group that are not appearing in the Movie Updates or HD Compatibility section. What's the value of these updates? They're having Extras added. Not incompatible Extras or previously removed Extras but entirely new Extras to the K Store. In the case of Logan this restored an alternate cut, but with most titles it's your typical behind-the-scenes and deletes scenes fare.

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) from Lionsgate in HD updated to Dolby TrueHD Atmos from DTS-HD Master 7.1

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013) HDR version also updated
  • Added audio track: English (PCM Stereo)
  • Added extras (In HD as separate download)

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay (Part 1) (2014) HDR version updated
  • Added audio track: English (PCM Stereo)
  • Added extras (In HD as separate download)

Speed Racer (2008) from Warner Bros. added UHD with Dolby TrueHD Atmos

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) HDR version updated
  • Audio and video improvements

Warfare (2025) HDR updated with video and audio improvements. This title had very good sound before this update--as noted by several members--so this is an interesting update.

Civil War (2024) HDR updated with video and audio improvements.

Given the recent thread on Star Wars, Star Wars 1977 - Original Theatrical Release, these updates just released may be of particular interest:

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005) HDR updated with audio and video improvements, and added extras.

Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999) HDR updated with audio and video improvements, and added extras.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) HDR updated with audio and video improvements, and added extras.

I would not be surprised by some more Star Wars updates.

Did they make these better movies?

I doubt they could make Rogue one any better. Love it in its current form. Plus ties in seamlessly with the Andor series. I like the other two as well, but then again you could also attribute that to the inherent SW nut, which resides within 🤪

Civil War has an amazing track as well. Interesting to see what got updated.

I got an update for The Sandlot. Looks like it added an Atmos track.

And HDR/Dolby Vision! Previously SDR only.

Oh, didn’t realize Rogue One was on there. That’s a great film. I thought it was just the prequels.

I too enjoyed Rogue One!
I couldn't get through the other prequels, while they played from beginning to end I did other things paying little attention after the first fifteen minuets.
Out of the VI to VIII movies I only found VII watchable but haven't purchased it due to not wanting to watch VI again.

Happy movie viewing!

Oops, I meant VII to IX, I got my roman numbers messed up. And I do like ep VI out of the original movies but I'd say it's the weakest of the 3.

Happy movie viewing!
