I think it's been stated that if you download the new version before deleting the original version, it will save any pause locations/bookmarks or custom scenes you've created and transfer them to the new file.

When I tried to update a movie it said my scene would be deleted.

I bought all of them a while back and haven't watched them on K yet, so glad I waited. Now I can watch the Cinematic version. Only ever seen these movies on a streaming platform so looking forward to watching them on K now.

I think I am losing my mind. I got a notice about the Theatrical Version of The Hobbit being updated to Cinematic. That aspect doesn't affect me, but for some reason it made me checked the Extended Editions, which I bought back in April when I first got my Strato E. I am 99.99% positive those were in Dolby Vision. I would not have bought them if they weren't. But I look at them now and... none of them are Dolby Vision! Only the theatrical cuts are.

Now I really hope these get Cinematic so they can get standard DV as a side effect. Or I may have to repurchase the disc set.

The first is the only one of the Michael Bay films worth watching, the rest are so so bad. Tyrese Gibson cannot act at all and is an awful stereotype, Josh Duhamel also god awful but at least they were barely in the first one!

I picked up the entire Middle Earth Collection (Extended and theatrical) for under $100. With these updates, it is already paying off.

I picked up the Extended Hobbit series (bought extended LOTR a week or so back) skipped right to the Smaug scenes in the treasure room. What a treat!!!

There is nothing to be done to address the common complaints about the 4K of T2 as the problem is with the source. James Cameron had the movie converted to 3D and as the first part of this process they did a 4K "remaster" where all grain/detail was scrubbed away to make a polished product that was then downscaled for HD 3D. And, to be clear, this was the RIGHT call for 3D and the 3D version looks fantastic. However, the powers that be then simply took the 4K "base" version and released it digitally and physically. This version should have never seen the light of day, this film deserves better, and we can all hope that it gets a second run at a 4K version that more closely matches that of The Terminator.

Problem is that since Cameron is in control, a new 4k of this would use the same AI upscale process he used for his other movies. So it might be an improvement but still not what it should/could be.

The Revenant is an example of a movie where we’ve had to order additional assets in order to do the reprocessing (to add the additional 4K formats besides HDR10). So that’s contributing to its timing.

4K Dolby Vision version of The Matrix (original) had a transcode issue that we’re working to resolve, but once that’s resolved you should see that added.
