The Revenant is an example of a movie where we’ve had to order additional assets in order to do the reprocessing (to add the additional 4K formats besides HDR10). So that’s contributing to its timing.

4K Dolby Vision version of The Matrix (original) had a transcode issue that we’re working to resolve, but once that’s resolved you should see that added.

That’s great news. Any chance the Extended versions of the Hobbit movies will get standard Dolby vision? Did they ever have it? (I’m guessing not and I was just mistaken when I bought them.)

How’s the bass on the opening seem at the base when the helicopter blows out the glass in the tower with a EMP blast? Every single version has that muted. Always wanted that scene to have bass.

I can’t remember how it was in the theater but it has always struck me as odd that it lacked bass.

I know that the 4K encode of Terminator 2 on UHD BluRay disc is not good to put it mildly! Is there any way for Kaleidescape to get a better quality 4K encode or do they have to depend upon the studio to provide them with a higher quality encode? I am guessing it is the latter but I just thought it would not hurt to ask.

Short answer: Nothing K can do.

Slightly longer: The "encode" is the final stage of the process that is performed by K. The studio provides the mezzanine files as the source, which is the issue with T2. The source was heavily scrubbed to remove all grain (and detail) and there's nothing K can do to add that back in.

Surprisingly enough, I don’t see the theatrical version which I purchased on the cinematic/regular catalogue. I have it in my library but it’s not listed on the K store.

Cinematic version is 175gb so probably includes both versions.

It’s asking me to purchase this version and indicates that I own another version.

I wouldn’t have purchased the theatrical version if I knew I would get both cuts, for the same price that I paid for the regular cut.

Something’s not right here.

Give it some time, it just hit the store. The week after the original digital release, the studio released The Extended Cut as a replacement of the prior listing. The Theatrical Cut was moved to the Extras. I've previously called it out as something K was missing, so I'm glad that they've now caught up with everyone else. I haven't personally seen this one and am not its audience, but I believe in digital parity across stores when studios take steps like this. It would be unfortunate if it's not a free upgrade like it was on other stores, but as a K owner/supporter I'll take that over not carrying the new version at all.
