Movie Updates

Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning (2023) HDR Version updated.

Changes in this update:
  • Audio and video improvements

I was hoping for a similar improvement to the K update of Superman.
Superman sounds fantastic after the update. That because that overall mix wasn’t too bad just very low in volume. F1’s mix is probably the biggest letdown of the year. This should have been THE reference movie of the year. No idea what the director was thinking when this released for streaming. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

I think this mix is just natively weak so unless they change the mix (very unlikely) it really won’t matter.
I’m inclined to agree, especially considering a few comments on AVS suggest the 4k disc suffered the same fate. After comparing some scenes side by side, Gran Turismo still sounds more dynamic to me even after this update.

F1 was such a letdown. The compressed audio along with the unshakable sense it’s a 2.5 hour episode of Ted Lasso but with race cars left it well short of expectations I had for it.

Jurassic World (2015) HDR version updated

Changes in this update:
  • Audio and video improvements

Also update for the Dolby vision version

I have several Updates siting in my account, where a PCM Stereo Audio track is the only thing that is being added or changed. I have no interest or need for this, so haven't updated. It's probably not much file size difference, but given the storage costs, I would prefer to not add to it unnecessarily.

But is there a way to 'decline' these Updates so that they don't appear in the list? Over time these are going to accumulate and clutter things up.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back (2015) HDR verion updated

Changes in this update:
  • Added audio track: English (PCM Stereo)

Sinners, can kscape team check latest movie update? It has messed up the aspect ratio in the first half of preacher boy scene? Was fine in previous version apart from a touch of judder in picture when scene transition to ambient sound.
