Last movie watched

I watched Drive (Ryan Gosling), unfortunately not on K, but thanks to my wonderful second sight 4k disc. This is such a bad ass movie. Love it more, with each successive viewing. Soon becoming one of my all time favorites.

Hopefully we would see the 4k/atmos version on K, in the near future. Cannot recommend this enough.

It’s available on K (albeit in HD), just in case you’re wondering:

I rented this to watch with my wife last night. Sometimes you have to pick a movie out of your comfort zone lol. Sometimes my wife expects everything I watch will be like John Wick.

This movie was pretty entertaining and had a good balance of mixed themes in the movie. The 4K video really does well in this film.

This is also one of my favorites. I watched the new Sony 4K Blu Ray steel book edition. The transfer and Atmos is phenomenal. Sony’s transfers are among the best.

I have the Sony steelbook as well, along with the German 4k Mediabook. The German edition has the weakest transfer out of the 3 imho. Second sight and Sony are almost neck and neck, except for the night/darker scenes where I feel second sight slightly edges out Sony,

But the second sight edition is amazing, especially due to its sheer extravagance.

I watched Avatar: The Way of Water last Saturday night and I must say that I wasn't impressed with the story. Beautiful picture and great sound but the rest was meh. I'm watching Babylon tonight. We'll see how that storyline goes.
I'm a fan of the Avatar movies for the sheer eye candy, but can't discredit any criticism of the stories. They are SO beautiful that you just wish the story was anywhere near as interesting as the world. I own all versions on K, but they really do need to be seen in 3D if possible.

Watching The Way of Water in 4K HFR HDR 3D on an Apple Vision Pro with Dolby Atmos audio powering through your home theater is the closest thing to re-creating a Dolby Cinema 3D experience at home, which is something I didn't think would be possible for years.

That is one good looking box set. I just checked Second Sight an it’s currently out of stock.

Unfortunately, the Limited set from Second Sight is long sold out and fetching a substantial markup on the secondary market. You can still get the Standard edition for a reasonable price, but at this point grabbing the US Steelbook is probably the way to go.

K should have access to this title, which is already available at other digital stores. Hopefully it’s just a delay and not a pass. I’m currently sitting on the Second Sight disc hoping for a K release of the Sony master.

OK, that does sound very cool. Would like to try that sometime.

I watched The Crow. I’m a huge fan of the original crow but I really liked this new take as well. Great audio and stunning PQ. Can’t wait to watch this again when friends/relatives come over.

Okay, I rented Drive (on Apple TV, to see it in 4K), and it was absolutely fantastic! How have I missed movies like this? Maybe we should have a "hidden gems" thread? Maybe I'll start one.

Anyway, I've ordered the steelbook from Amazon for physical display and to have a full-fat 4K version for the next viewing.

I thought this was really a great film. I’ve been wanting to rewatch this one again but have been waiting for K to get this in 4K. I remember the cinematography and soundtrack being really impressive.

I watched Uglies (Netflix) last night. The atmos track on this is simply outstanding. Generous amount of LfE as well. One of the best atmos implementations this year..streaming notwithstanding. Hope this eventually makes its way to K or disc somehow. Fun watch as well.

I forgot how good this was, it’s been a while since I watched this one.

Watched Blink Twice last night. Enjoyed this psychological thriller. Slightly reminiscent of The Menu.

I must need to watch Drive again. I found it boring, and I remember nothing about it except for a sweet sweet satin jacket.
The jacket is awesome! I found the pacing to be to my taste as well. Plus, I related to the main character saying very little in real life conversations. I’d say worth a second spin. I will definitely be showing it to my wife or daughter sometime soon.

That right there resonated with me the most.

Had a blast watching Gods of Egypt with my 16 yr old son last night.
Guilty pleasure; had some great bass during some of the scenes!
