Last movie watched

On another note, we watched Kinds of kindness and felt that we got hit by a Tsunami. Arguably one of the worst/ most disgusting films I have watched in recent times (and I have seen some stinkers).
We loved it. The furthest thing from a formulaic Hollywood assembly line movie you could ask for.

That’s nice to know. Different strokes for different folks.

I love films like Hurricane Heist and Borderlands (especially for the audio component) so I can totally relate to that.

Watched borderlands. I understand there are mixed reviews (majority of them unfavorable) but I quite enjoyed it, even though I don’t know anything about the game it’s based upon. Absolutely breathtaking PQ and fantastic atmos mix. Great HT experience.
Well just thought I would post this here. His observations are quite congruent to my own experience.

Mods Im not sure if I’m allowed to post external YouTube content. If this violates forum guidelines, please feel free to remove the same.

I watched Late Night With the Devil. It’s not as good as I thought it would be given some reviews, but it does make you think. Lower budget film but it wasn’t terrible. I think it may be one of those movies that gets better after a second watch.

Reminder - drop store-page URLs into your posts here to help out others when you recommend a movie. It's super helpful. The forum software detects any link to Kaleidescape store and converts it into a summary, cover art, and link.

Watched Robot Dreams last night. Really enjoyable film. Nice to see a director tell an engaging story through visuals and no dialog. Keep those NEON titles coming!

This movie really resonated with me because I grew up with the old 70s and 80s talk shows. Also it was structured like old Hollywood movies with a slow but tense buildup. I believe it does get better with a second watch.

I’ve been on a kick to watch older movies since I usually only see current films. Checked out “The Company Men” which reminded me about the time in my life when I was out of work. Tough to watch for me but really hit home and summed up the time period. The Company Men

And I’m not still not sure how to post the correct movie store link. I just copied the URL from the store and pasted here.

It looks like you used the "Insert Link" tool and pasted the URL into the little pop up like this:
The Company Men

You can simply just paste the full URL into the text as you type:

No need to use anything in the toolbar. You can use the Preview button to see if it's rendering as desired.

How was the picture Quality? I see NEON is only releasing this in HD across all screaming services. File size is only about 20GB for a 1:43 run time.

The picture quality looked great. The animation style is very clear, flat and graphic, so the HD transfer translate well, even on a big screen. Maybe a 4K transfer would enhance the colors, but I don't think it would add much more.

Yes, good answer. While it seems obvious to use the "Insert Link" item in your post, in fact that will bypass the parser that goes and gathers the info for that handy/fancy store data. You should just paste the URL itself right into your message. The forum software will take care of the rest. Thanks for pointing that out @LoveCinema - I was confused myself how @AusDan had pasted the right URL in but got the wrong result. You figured out the answer - don't use the "insert link" function.

Thanks, I don’t regret purchasing as I always like this stuff for October.

I was there once. And at an "elevated" age. I watched the trailer and think I have seen previously.

I watched The Chronicles of Riddick earlier this week on 4K disc (tip of the hat to @Broncowrangler for sharing the retailer who was jumping embargo on selling the thing). A guilty pleasure at cinema quality. Hopefully the film comes to K so I don't have to fiddle with my NAS.

The Departed - A Scorsese movie that we haven’t seen since its release in 2006. Another one that we had both remembered enjoying first time around but the details had been blurred sufficiently to enjoy it without remembering everything before it happened. To the point that I spent the first half an hour wondering when Pacino and De Niro were turning up (they aren’t in it! - doh). I had even forgotten that Ray Winstone was in it with a strong supporting role. A huge cast of stars, well marshalled with central performances from DiCaprio and Matt Damon with a long list of smaller parts by big names but all blown away by the master, Jack Nicholson. Jack was in his element as the top dog of the Boston Irish gang. The role allowing him to run through every emotion in a sentence, let alone a scene, and sees him delivering his unhinged, dangerous but clever mob boss in a believable way. Hypnotic right to the end. Scorsese knows how to tell a story. Brutal moments to set the scene/tone but not drenched in it for sensationalism, just enough for the story, Excellent movie. Loved it.
