Were it possible, limiting members to one post a day to "that thread" would force members to reflect on how important their post really is and whether or not it adds anything new to the discussion

I have been directly attacked by multiple different members so my responses will be more numerous. If they were removed in a timely manner or people didn't attack responses would be fewer. Limiting posts per day in a thread critical of K, which the forum allows, is not the answer.

I think the overarching assumption that people want the thread or findings from RMarci to disappear is wrong.
As @josh and others have mentioned before, it was the permanent mockering and bickering in that thread that made it unuseable, not Rmarci´s findings.

Those 2 things are very much related. As soon as he posted his 4KC findings some people got upset by them and jumped in to attack. Others trolling to antagonize and create that environment. Let’s not be naive here.

I ended up using the ignore user function for the first time on a few people because of that.

This is beyond reporting problems in a forum so they can be fixed, this seems to be about trying to materially damage the reputation of Kaleidescape.

Once again this thread is heading down the drain with hyperbole and accusations…… Trolls claiming to be wounded and proclaiming, “woah is me……” hilarious. This thread is….. a waste of time.

As a reminder, the other thread was ostensibly closed because of attacks on other members, not because we didn't like what they had to say.

You don’t have the new K and yet your input has been way more than people who have it. Even when members like me say it’s good you still complain about Kaleidescape K and its players. Honestly you have absolutely ruined the thread and have had a go at anyone who has an opinion that differs from you.

Here, the entrenched positions go on endlessly, repeating the same points over and over and over.

On another forum I used to frequent, they instituted a rule that members could not post multiple times to a thread unless someone else posted. That might also be helpful.

I think this is an excellent suggestion. Can the mods limit the first thread to only allow posts by RMarci, KSCape reps, and mods? We can then see the data without the commentary unless we visit the second thread (which I probably would try and avoid).

But, instead of going back and dissecting the old thread, simply move forward with this two-thread approach, to save the mods time.

In other forums, the moderators have the ability to block problematic users from posting in particular threads for a certain amount of time or permanently.

The moderators clearly need some new tools in their toolbox. Even in this thread, such tools would be welcome.

I’ve personally put all of them on my ignore list as well, including everyone who liked Josh’s post about closing a thread that actually improved the quality of the discussion for everyone. I have no interest in dealing with this childish BS anymore.

After the countless issues and repeated mistakes that have been exposed since I started testing this platform, you have every right to complain about Kscape as much as you want. You don’t even need to own the K model, since the screenshots alone provide more than enough evidence to identify the quality issues.

The real problem here is that these other guys can’t stand seeing people criticize a product they love, so they resort to mocking and insulting us instead.

@Rmarci I'm sure you have me on ignore and that is unfortunate. Not once was I critical to your work. I may have questioned your motivation to not taking your work to your own thread so it can be objectively reviewed without input from others. I applaud your work and hope it continues. This isn't the first time I've said this. On the other hand I've been critical of peoples' response to your work and K-Scapes responses.

What are your plans moving forward, will you be creating a new thread to continue the analysis? I’m still curious about LLDV testing to see if K have changed it to work properly.

As I said before, the only way I’ll resume posting my analysis is if the old thread gets unlocked. As you can see from this thread, locking it was pointless, and the only thing it will accomplish is burying the data in the forum.

I’m still doing daily comparisons, and the links are all in my Excel sheet. I’m also still reporting problematic titles to Kscape, I just did so with Doubtfire and Scary Movie. That won’t change, because I do every comparison for myself anyway because i care about watching the best version of a movie even if it's just 1% improvement. I’ve always shared them publicly mainly to put more pressure on Kscape and hopefully get them to fix these issues faster and force them to do better quality control which did actually work.

So from what I gather, @Rmarci is done posting on all these issues. Great, that settles everything. No need for these posts to continue and the matter is resolved. I'll continue to consult the spreadsheet. Certain posters will fade to obscurity and all will be right with the world.
