The issue with desaturated colors some of us reported has only ever been present in the Dolby Vision encode of some movies. I’m about to watch Sonic 3 and downloaded the HDR10 version because I can’t trust the DV version as I saw in some Paramount titles.Okay, just confirming that Last Jedi is not affected by the issue I discussed earlier in this thread, and that we're tracking the update progress of in the other thread. I will post an update here when I find out what the status is of the investigation on that title.
Okay, an update that I hope will be considered good news.The issue with desaturated colors some of us reported has only ever been present in the Dolby Vision encode of some movies. I’m about to watch Sonic 3 and downloaded the HDR10 version because I can’t trust the DV version as I saw in some Paramount titles.
I just got an email about some movies that were updated including "The Equalizer 2". I wonder if this update corrected those brightness fluctuations?I’d be freaking out if I realized I had to re-encode most DV movies all over again lol. Btw I sent them an example and some scenes on the Equalizer 2 DV brightness fluctuations. Unfortunately I don’t have those movies on disc to compare.
Life for non DV projectors owners would be so much easier if we could set the default download version to HDR10 version. I have no need for DV versions of movies.
Howdy folks! I'll add these to the update thread in a moment, but because I know there will be substantial interest, also letting you know here that we just posted two updates:
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
That's not on the list of affected titles. If you can point to a few time indexes, the content team can take a look. I assume this is the Dolby Vision version.@MikeKobb was Blade Runner 2049 also impacted per chance? I noticed a lot of wash outs for a second here and there.
I have no idea what I just read, but I'm glad there are people in the world who understand this stuff. There are things that can't be dumbed down enough for me to understand and we just found another one. However, thank you for your contribution to the subject as I'm sure many on here will find it extremely valuable!
Honest I wouldn’t buy the v to use with a HDR projector , maybe UST ones . I’d stick with a strato s or c and a Terra.Which one yields "better" picture for a non-DV projector?
1. Strato V LLDV-> Lumagen LLDV -> PJ
2. Strao V HDR10 -> Lumagen -> PJ
You’re following the wrong thread for those updates.@MikeKobb Were there no updated DV titles last week?
No that’s the HD conversions for V thread. I’m asking about Dolby Vision conversions and there were no updates on the DV thread last week. I’m asking here since the thread with the updates is purely about the titles and not for others to post.You’re following the wrong thread for those updates.
Hello everyone,
There has been a great deal of discussion on the forum about the HD content conversion process to make our titles compatible with Strato V. Based on feedback (both internal and here on the forum) we have recently made changes to the information presented on the Strato V Compatibility report (hopefully for the better). There has also been a great deal of discussion about the pace and timing of the conversion process.
We're going to use this thread to post weekly updates that will list the titles that have gone through the conversion process and are now available on the...
