About Strato V, Dolby Vision, and FEL

No that’s the HD conversions for V thread. I’m asking about Dolby Vision conversions and there were no updates on the DV thread last week. I’m asking here since the thread with the updates is purely about the titles and not for others to post.

Last update was on 3/21.
Ah, okay.

Sorry about that. I was waiting to get some information from the team on Friday and we didn't connect so I forgot to post. I've updated the other thread. Long story short: we're essentially finished. There are three titles left in process, but the issue is not very visible in those.

Hi Mike, something I keep forgetting to ask. The Strato V is a DV CM v4.0 player right? Since it came out last year. Blu Ray player SoCs and discs are stuck with the older CM 2.9 version which had some slight bugs like slight black crush iirc.

Strato V (and Strato M) support both CM v4.0 and CM v2.9 media. We request that the studios provide CM v4.0 if it is available.

New to Strato V. I have a Lumagen and NZ7. From what I'm reading there is not much benefit in trying to use LLDV with Strato V correct? And there is theoretically some benefit to using the Strato V to convert DV to HDR10 rather than using the HDR10 version? I have video output set to prefer HDR10. What HDR version will the Strato default to downloading?

I have an epson ls12000 and a lumagen and I only use HDR10. I basically deferred to what Kris Deering had suggested, which was that there was very little benefit to adding LLDV while adding a potential for more issues.

Thanks. Are you downloading the DV or HDR10 version? Reviewing this thread it seemed there was initial issues with some DV titles that appear to be worked out now. I do now see that when you purchase a title DV is selected by default but you can change it.
