Strato V black screen and audio cutout issues

I've had my V for a couple of weeks, amd I'm new to the Kscape ecosystem. Unfortunately, I'm also experiencing occasional audio dropouts (but zero issues with video). The most problematic was Furiosa (DV/Atmos) where I had 6-7 dropouts at various points in the movie, each lasting about a 1/2 second. Last night we watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Black Pearl (HDR/5.1) and there was just one audio drop about 90 minutes into the movie, but it lasted 4-5 seconds.

My chain: Strato V (connected via included HDMI cable) -> Marantz SR8015 -> madVR Envy -> JVC RS4100.

Of note, I also have a cable box, gen 3 ATV and Panny UB820 plugged into the Marantz, and none of those source devices are exhibiting any audio/video issues.

Had a brief audio-drop out when coming out of pause while watching Deepwater Horizon...4k HDR10. Was not able to reproduce. About 2-3 seconds of video without sound.

1 brief audio drop with Blink twice. As usual non replicable.

However I have noticed the download speed through the K store has been relatively slow for the past 24 hours. i wonder if there is some site maintenance going on.

I'm having same exact issue. In interim, while we wait for firmware update, you manually fix this issue. Play a DV movie on K, change the denon input to another device, go to settings, change hdcp setting (auto to 2.3 or vice versa), go back to K input on denon. This will reestablish the connection between K and Denon and above issue will be fixed. You will see secure connection restored message on K screen. This has been working for me consistently.
I'm now thinking that this is a Denon issue and not Kaleidescape. I just had the very same issue happen with a 2nd Denon AVR (X4700H) and a different source device (Roku). I did the same steps to fix it, but it is not only happening when viewing content on the Strato V. Unfortunately, I was not able to get the same great Denon support agent this time, so not sure anything will come of it.

Unfortunately I experience this issue with non DV movies so I do not think its a DV only issue. I think there is just a basic HDMI handshaking/"rehandshaking" issue with the V.

I have tried and tried to recreate the issue hooked to the same AVR and projector with other devices including:
-Apple TV
-ZIdoo Z30, Zidoo z9x
-Xbox Series X
-Playstation 5
-Panasonic 420
-Roku Ultra

All work perfectly, so I I do not think its just a Marantz issue.

The issue is extremely intermittent on the V....I would say 5 times total in the 2 months ive had it...and never once could I reproduce with the same movie/scene/timestamp. 4 of those 5 times it was when coming out of pause/intermission.

I have had the colors going all neon pink twice....both were non DV versions of movies...again indicating some HDMI issue.

I tend to agree. I have similar setup as you with Zidoo UHD8000, PS5, Apple TV, Panasonic 820 and never experienced this issue with any other device for years. This definitely points towards HDMI handshaking (hdcp issue) with V.

It happened to me on a separate AVR (X4700H) and on another device (Roku), so I tend to think it's the current Denon firmware. The only commonality between the two locations is the model 2020 Denon.

There are definitely problems with the V in some setups, but I also had problems with a 2020 Denon x2700 with the Strato C and Apple TV.

I made a few posts in this thread with some more info:
Video Cutting Out on Strato

I eventually hooked my sources directly to the TV and eARC back to the receiver to get around it.

I think you could try limiting bandwidth to 13.5gbps and minimize display mode changes. This forces chroma to 4:2:0. My recollection is that 4:4:4 or 4:2:2 were the problem with the Denon.

I’m referring to Dolby Vision on AVR issue. I don’t have the audio cutout issue very often.

I just got an update for both my X4700H and X6700H Denons. You may want to check for one on the Marantz. I'm not sure it fixes the Dolby Vision issue. I'll be checking tonight when I watch another Dolby Vision movie.

I'm not sure if I had the same issue, but I also am running a V through a Denon unit to my Formovie Theater UST. A few times, the entire system just shut down EXCEPT the V, as if the V had broadcast it's power off signal over HDMI. I turned off the HDMI control features on my Denon and fingers crossed it hasn't happened again.

I’m seeing multiple black screen flashes watching Rob Peace. I am watching Bikeriders after and opted to download the non DV version.

I originally reached out to support on 7/27 highlighting all the issues. I got a follow up last Thursday 9/26…asking me to capture/send a screenshot of the HDMI Capabilities Tool. 😩🙄

*no comments, just leaving it out there*

Watched Ferrari last night...HDR10.....and had a two cases of screen going blank after coming out of pause. As per usual was not able to reproduce. Exiting and resume corrected issue.

I watched Deadpool Wolverine in DV/DA twice now with zero audio or video drop outs. Same for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and Bad Boys Ride or Die. Now I go back and watch Twister/Twisters and I always have at least 1 audio drop out. My chain is, Strato V to AVM70 to LG 83C. Starting to also think it’s the specific movie and or something in the download. Who knows. Deadpool Wolverine did look and sound awesome for a Disney title!

Just had an audio dropout on my V during the treehouse scene in Beetlejuice. Could not reproduce. HDR 10 version. Frustrating.

It seems like it’s going on for longer than I thought. Does anyone know are Kscape engineers looking at this?
