Yeah exactly, that's why I don't think it will solve my issue of audio dropping out with the reciever. It may fix the black screen but I'm still getting the audio randomize dropping midway into a movie. You will still route it through the receiver so you should receive full audio support. The only change you will make is go under video settings of your receiver and switch to pass through. This will bypass all receiver video processing, as that would be handled by the display.
I came across this forum. Not in a bad way, but just by doing my homework before pulling the trigger. I have a Marantz SR6015 11.1 setup using an LG CX OLED TV. After reading about the many issues with black screens, loss of audio and video signals with Marantz and Denon AVRs, I am afraid I won't be able to enjoy this new product because who knows how long it will take to address these issues and release timely fixes. It seems like 10.61.80.122 their testing phase, to test the HDMI signals on these AVRs and LG OLED TVs (CX, C1, C2, C3, and C4) and certain projectors, these products were not a part of the qualification phase. It seems that maybe the Strato V was tested and certified on much higher-end AVR, OLED, and Screen Projector products. If this is true, then Kaleidescape didn't do their homework in full to make this not only more affordable but also more compatible with low-mid budget home theater setups like mine. If Kaleidescape releases a public statement that they have engaged Sound United and shipped them a Strato V for testing and certifying with their Marantz SR and Cinema product line, I will buy the Strato V in a heartbeat. But I feel, that if this takes too long to happen, then the price of the Strato V will go up in price, and then I will not be a satisfied consumer. I hope these issues are resolved quickly. I want a good reason to buy this product and not have to deal with the work around of the issues that seem to be building up.
I dont even have mine going through an AVR, but connected directly to my Samsung S95C and then eARC out to my audio system, and the screen still goes black after watching a movie. It loses its HDMI handshake to my TV, and the only way to getting it back is to power off the V, wait a few seconds and power it back on. I think the issue is going from the movie at 24hz back to 60hz which is the main menu. Its not an issue going from a higher refresh rate to a lower, but going from a lower to a higher. I may have to turn on QMS on my tv to see if that works.
Default means the UI is 60hz. I turned QMS on in the S95C TV settings and that made it worse. So turned it off, and set the V UI to 24p. Have no issues after i did that, other than the UI is slower. Not at home currently but I will take screenshots of what I changed later. I could have misremembered where the option was.

I’m in a similar boat, first with the edge enhancement that the player is applying and then with this as I have a Denon x3800h and an LG G2. It does feel like it needed a bit more time in the oven, but their audience is primarily very high end HTs so they probably focused on those devices, as you mentioned, and projectors over TVs.I came across this forum. I got the same response from the aforementioned gentleman. Fwiw the “escalation” happened over a week ago. Haven’t heard anything since, no follow up email or ticket/case number etc.
Yeah definitely expected some more communication to keep me updated. Thank God for this forum, else I would have probably gone insane..lol.That is not good customer support whatsoever
Maybe they just dont care about us peasant D&M owners.![]()
