Strato V black screen and audio cutout issues

It’s a Denon/ Marantz incompatibility issue with the V along with an unknown bug, which has been established for a while. The only workaround at the moment is to plug this directly to the display (or enable passthrough), until they find a permanent solution. The threads mentioned above outlines many similar issues. Not ideal, but really hoping they get down to the bottom of this soon.
Have there been actual replies to people's support tickets openly stating issues with denon and marantz?

I had similar issues with my Denon. Apparently the V is not playing nice with D&M products. I reluctantly hooked it directly into my display.

Also check this thread for similar issues/concerns:

If true that is unfortunate for me since with a projector I do not have the option of hooking directly to display unless I want every movie to be a silent movie. :)

I you want to connect directly to a display, that means having to use splitter to get a signal to the AVR for audio. I'm thinking of doing that so does anyone have a recommendation for a good one that works?

Not in my case. I put all 4 of my living room sources direct to my TV via HDMI, but then I go optical out of the TV back to my preamp.

In my case that would be the only way to hook the V directly to the display and bypass the AVR.

Kinda makes me wish now that the Strato V had a audio only HDMI out.

No clue about spillters or extractors or how well they work...I have been very hesitant to trust those things in the past. Plus adding even more devices into a already delicate chain is never a good idea. Hopefully they can iron out this issue with D/M receivers...for now I seem to be doing will with forcing the UI to 24p. Might also set the AVR to bypass. I can live without the AVR overlays.

Yes, I'm aware I could do that but it's my understanding that an optical connection will not pass a high-resolution audio signal like True HD and Atmos. So I would still like to know if there's a good HDMI splitter I can use.

I might be barking up the wrong tree here. My issue has nothing to do with the signal quality going through my AVR (Integra), but what's happening to me is my 83" LG C2 OLED display will randomly shut down while watching a movie on the Strato V. It will not happen when on a other source like my Apple TV which leads me to believe it's an issue specific to the Strato's interaction with the AVR.

The V is glitchy no need to church it up or sugarcoat it... we signed up for it as new adopters and I'm sure K will iron it out with updates, besides if everything was perfect what would we all have to bitch about  Gravity not being in 4k with Atmos right?

Agreed....no 4k Gravity in ATMOS is a travesty.

Nope…I was told a ticket would be opened but haven’t received any ticket or any follow up email or ticket/case number with details.

I’m not very thrilled about hooking this to my display, when all of my other sources (which includes a $100 Atv-4k) have been plugged into my receiver and operating as intended.

Can you please tell me where you changed the UI to 4k/24p?

I am not only not thrilled...I actually cannot hook straight to display since I have a projector so I would lose audio!

In the web gui...under advanced video settings.
Ok, It’s currently at automatic(default). So my question is what is automatic(default)? There is also an option for 24 and 60.

Can someone please explain what default means?

Not at home currently but I will take screenshots of what I changed later. I could have misremembered where the option was.

I believe default was setting mine to 60.

Which is what had be thinking the switching in and out of 24p when watching movies was causing problems.

I changed it to 24p.

THou i bet if I were to play something that was at 60...the problem might return.

Yeah that’s really strange, I would have thought default would automatically switch between appropriate values (24p, 60p) to keep things consistent.

Fwiw, my V is in my secondary setup with the 83” Oled. I did briefly pair it up with my Epson 12000 in my main HT and set the receiver to bypass under video settings. It worked fine, but you will lose OSD. If you’re not too worried about losing osd, you can go that route.
