I hope we get a few more films as the day goes on. I get that K is concentrating on 4K Cinematic upgrades but lots of wish lists have been posted on the forums of digital titles available from their participating studios that they could be adding.

Forums are not an official channel for providing feedback to Kaleidescape. Never have been.

If you want to make requests and build wish lists, you should be emailing movies@kaleidescape.com if you want them to have any sort of impact.

Kaleidescape is not scouring the forums for peoples' wish lists and compiling them all internally.

This is a great post @thrillcat, I will make sure I’m sending my request to Kscape directly. I’m really hoping they upgrade The Hobbit extended series to 4k Cinematic

However, we should see big titles this period including ... Spider-Man: Brand New Day (October) with every other "Summer" film filling in between...
Gonna be a big "Nope" not his one for October. Sony and theater owners just agreed to keep Spider-Man: Brand New Day exclusviely in theaters until November 16th. That means it'll hit both physical AND digital on November 17th alongside The Odyssey. Which, unfortunately for Nolan, means his film won't top the charts on release for either medium. D'oh!

I didn’t see either of these. May have been my first rentals. To bad the wait will be longer.

Looks like we might see Onslaught on October 6th.
Was really hoping we’d get Resident Evil before Halloween but think it did too well at the box office this weekend. Might be Nov 3rd at the earliest.
@LoveCinema has been spot on with these so I’ll defer to him on these.

This is interesting as the title just went on sale on Apple. Maybe K's wires got crossed and instead of reduced it was removed? :)

This is one of those poorly reviewed direct-to-video horror movies that sells poorly, gives the genre a bad name, and should have never appeared on K. Regardless, it'll probably be back shortly.

Has anyone here watched Covert Affairs all the way through. Some people write that it ended on a cliffhanger, while others say it's not really a cliffhanger. I am interested, but don't really want to start it if it had no conclusion... I watched too many TV series like that.

You mean basically almost all television content and a lot of movies looking to set up a part 2?

I don't mind an open ended conclusion, as long as it's some kind of a conclusion. What I do mind is watching something for five seasons and then it's just cut off at some critical moment such as someone being shot by unknown assailant or whatever. Or for instance, I hated that I got into Amazon's Wheel of Time only to have it cancelled after three seasons with no real resolution.

I agree with your general point, but there is a way to get resolution to an incomplete TV series based on a complete series of books...

You are much better off either reading the series or doing it on audio book. The amazon series was a travesty.

I was just giving an example. It was not my favorite series, but it intrigued me sufficiently to want to watch to conclusion. Books are books and tv series are tv series. Some of my favorite tv series or movies take liberties with the books they are based on.

At any rate, I was asking about Covert Affairs....

FYI, of course at the end of the month Universal dropped another batch of catalog titles. I'll get these added to the bottom of the first post soon. Obviously this drop is the source of the random HD titles recently added to the K Store.

Although I have no actual knowledge of this, based on history I imagine the conversation at K starts like this:
"Universal is dropping 30 catalog titles. We can pick 5. Which ones should we get?"

When I'd much rather it start like this:
"This week we have capacity for 5 HD titles. Grab the Top 5 on our Request List."

Or:
"What 5 HD titles would generate the most interest/sales right now? Last year we released Halloween 4K. Halloween 2 has an overdue HD upgrade, let's start with that. The Child's Play franchise is only 2 HD upgrades from matching the best digital offerings. Toss those in. With the last two, let's grab a couple of Universal's drop. The Last Days and The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover. Done."

iTunes is listing Spiderman: Brand New Day as coming out next Tuesday. Is that correct? I had heard it wasn't releasing until 17 November.

Yup! Strange days, indeed. After previously announcing an agreement with theater owners to continue an “exclusive theatrical engagement” until November 16th, Sony has now announced NEW digital and physical dates. Digital hits next week and physical is now pushed to December 15th. Great news for us and for Christopher Nolan as The Odyssey will now have space to dominate home video charts. In regards to the theater owner agreement, I’m going to assume the newly discussed Extended Cut has something to do with it.
