US BR & 4K Releases for May & June 2023

I watched it tonight. I guess I am weird. I thought it was pretty boring and waste of effort.

"Avatar?" Yeah I saw it in 3D in theaters when it first came out and I've always been puzzled by its financial success. Interestingly, though it made a bajillion dollars - consider that you never see anyone dressed up as the blue creatures at Halloween or at ComicCons, and there are no memes of satires. So many people saw it and it made pretty much zero cultural impact. Very odd. There's a paper to be written about that!

Looking beyond the fact its a remake of "FernGully" lol. What did you think of the actual audio/video presentation. I reckon visually it's up there with the best this format has to offer.

I thought that the 4K HDR remaster is a huge improvement over the previous HD version. Some of the scenes even felt 3D. The audio mix was also strong. Way of Water still looks better, but this new remaster brings the two films closer in quality. I hope the forthcoming Cameron remasters of The Abyss, True Lies and Titanic look as good 🤞🏻
