US BR & 4K Releases for March & April 2024

I'm confused. When I downloaded The Abyss (Theater Release), I thought I also got the Extended Version/Directors Cut (but in 1080P and not Atmos). Now I look and I see the following which says there is now NO Extended Version available (which, in my opinion, is the only worthwhile version of the movie).

What gives? I finally gave up and bought both versions on Disc and both are 4K/HDR Atmos? This kind of nonsense is a huge negative. I'm sure it's not K's issue (??) but I really do find this so incredibly frustrating.
You're looking at the details for an old edition of the movie. If you click "Other Editions" over there on the left, you can select the current edition, which is the one you own. You may have followed an old link or something to get to that old version. It's still in the store database for folks who own that edition.

I posed my question improperly. I, too, have the HD version on my server (I think). But (a) why does the store say not available and (b) why can I buy the disc with both HDR and Atmos but, yet again, not from K. This is not just some tiny studio with a "no one cares about" movie.

This kind of thing demonstrates that if one really wants the very best movie watching experience, depending on just Kaleidescape will not get you there. I must continue to keep ripping discs to my server. Oh well!!!

I love my K system. Convenience and ease of use top the list. But .......

Rant over!!
I also learned the same lesson. It's not often, but I do have to keep ripping because I can't buy everything on Kscape.

Wow, never expected to see Trainspotting get a 4K upgrade but here we are (this is available from Criterion in 4K). I just recently bought the 4K Blu-ray during the Criterion sale. So much have been a non exclusive deal with Criterion (similar to Silence of the Lambs). I'll have to compare the two and see if they use the same transfer or not. Upgrade price was nice as well!

I get $19.99 to upgrade even if I own it in HD. Guess a different studio when I originally bought it in April 2015?

We were just about to watch this last week, too, and for the first time, we chose NOT to watch a movie the week before a 'surprise' upgrade came along. It's like winning the lottery.

Not sure, mine was like $5. I had done D2D with that one using the Miramax Blu-ray I believe a couple years ago.

Looks like this got missed earlier:

Added in HD with DTS-HD Stereo from NBCUniversal
I'm baffled. The original Halloween series is available on 4K UHD from Shout Factory and unavailable digitally. K doesn't have all of the other films, so it's not like they're plugging a hole. If K's looking to spend resources on horror sequels in HD, I'd like to show them some lovely options on Elm Street.
