A bit of nostalgia from my childhood. From the team that made the televised The Hobbit and The Return of the King animated features. Originally only available on mail-away VHS, later DVD on-demand, most recently on Blu-ray through Warner Archive, and now on K.

Supposed to be a great Atmos mix according to the Atmos music circles.

Whoa!! This was unexpected, Phil “The Gift” Heath‘s 7th Mr. Olympia win.

I hope we get Pumping Iron too to the store one day! By far the most influential body building documentary ever.

Up for Pre-order

Can we get King Kong (1976) added to the release calendar for April 9th?

This has long been available overseas on disc, other digital stores have had 4K Dolby Vision for some time, and we're seeing an official studio published US disc next month. To me, this checks all the boxes for a likely K Store release. Let me know if I missed something...

Also, we should be seeing 4K HDR updates to the Oceans films on April 30th, no?

We have had it in the store for some years now but it is in SD only. It would be nice if we get it upgraded to HD at least.

I'm confused. When I downloaded The Abyss (Theater Release), I thought I also got the Extended Version/Directors Cut (but in 1080P and not Atmos). Now I look and I see the following which says there is now NO Extended Version available (which, in my opinion, is the only worthwhile version of the movie).

What gives? I finally gave up and bought both versions on Disc and both are 4K/HDR Atmos? This kind of nonsense is a huge negative. I'm sure it's not K's issue (??) but I really do find this so incredibly frustrating.

Mine is in the extras on the HD download.

If you select to download the HD version, it'll put multiple downloads into your queue. One of these will be the Special Edition; you can choose to cancel the other downloads.

Now, if only we could get an HDR update like every other source of The Abyss Special Edition.

I posed my question improperly. I, too, have the HD version on my server (I think). But (a) why does the store say not available and (b) why can I buy the disc with both HDR and Atmos but, yet again, not from K. This is not just some tiny studio with a "no one cares about" movie.

This kind of thing demonstrates that if one really wants the very best movie watching experience, depending on just Kaleidescape will not get you there. I must continue to keep ripping discs to my server. Oh well!!!

I love my K system. Convenience and ease of use top the list. But .......

Rant over!!
