Upcoming kOS Release - sneak preview

Is this what the "movie updates" tab is for in the Kaleidescape app?
Correct. If you own a title that receives an update, whether it's SDR to DV, or DTSHD to Atmos, you'll get a notification and it will appear here.

Updates from HD to UHD (SDR, HDR10, or DV) will appear in the Digital Offers tab with the upgrade cost. I believe this is also where Disc 2 Digital offers appear, but I've not done any of those.

Thanks, there is another disc to digital tab and I cataloged about 70 of my discs a few days ago. I bought about 10 of them. The others were either not available on Kaleidescape or did not have a DV version so I skipped those as I would consider it a downgrade from the disc. As you can see I'm hanging a lot of hope on these movies being available on DV on Kaleidescape at some point.

Hmmm. Ill be honest I'm dissapointed... I really thought Kscape was listening to it's customers when it came to the Strato UI changes. There were whispers from dealers that they were listening. But it's been over a year now and still nothing. I really wanted to buy a new server for Christmas but im starting to rethink it.

I sure hope this update improves Strato V UI in a significant way because in my opinion, it looks like hot garbage right now. What were they thinking crippling their signature look?

The improvement to the cover art images are coming in two phases. Phase 1 are the changes we have made in kOS 10.20.0...

...The second phase of the improvements are changes we are making to our headed tools that are used to generate and transform our cover art images to make those images sharper. These updated tools are slated to go into service in mid-December.
Did the second phase get released in mid-December as planned?

Is there any examples of before and after cover art to compare?

Cheers

I don't think they've been released yet. We deployed to employee systems and found an issue that needed to be addressed before we can deploy more widely.

The improvement to the cover art images are coming in two phases. Phase 1 are the changes we have made in kOS 10.20.0 that improves the quality and sharpness of the 1080p cover art when it is scaled to 2160p. Additionally, we have updated the "Allow display mode changes (use external scaler)" setting for Strato V to output the OSD at 1080p so that those of you with external video processors can use those to upscale the OSD to 4K.

The second phase of the improvements are changes we are making to our headed tools that are used to generate and transform our cover art images to make those images sharper. These updated tools are slated to go into service in mid-December.
The headend tools to further improve our cover art image quality have completed qualification and have been deployed to our production headend. Strato V owners should see additional cover art image improvement rolling out this week as the images are reprocessed and pushed out in media guide updates.
