NEWS: Strato K Movie Player with 8K capability and new "4K Cinematic" full-chroma & higher bitrate support

Thanks for the Strato K write up @KDeering (and Sammie).

Great article! Thanks for sharing.

Yes, I can’t believe people on this forum are buying from Best Buy!

Please always buy from a dealer here on this forum. We have so many good ones to choose from.

It will benefit both you and them.
In general I agree but for some the 24 mo no interest is tempting. Personally when it comes to luxury items,, I follow rule that if I cannot pay for something cash right now then I should not have it.

I did order my player and server from a dealer here, but I assume having K in Best Buy is a good thing for the brand—not only for sales but also exposure. I’m sympathetic to your point, but personally, I don’t think anyone need feel bad about the source of their equipment.

I didn’t know any dealers, I ordered my Strato K through Best Buy, then a dealer private messaged me on this forum, I canceled my Best Buy order and ordered with him. Rooster with Twin Cities Hifi… he provided great service, communicated awesome with me and I received my Strato K pretty quick. 🤘🏼

Rooster was a friend and client of mine....until he stabbed me in the back and went off on his own!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Being serious, he's a great guy and friend, you were in good hands!:)

ha ha....it was guys like you who inspired me to jump into the dealer world!

edit: I do wish I forsaw this when I joined 10 years ago and picked a name that conveys more professionalism. "Rooster" seemed like a good idea at the time

Newest cinematic titles…
“Parent trap”, “charlottes web”… some rather odd choices… lol anyone watching these? Give us.. “Transformers”, Matrix movies… have a poll and let the ppl pick… 🤘🏼
Charlotte’s web has been there for a while in cinematic. Probably got updated recently. But yeah I would like some more popular titles to get the cinematic application.

Great idea on the poll. I created a poll in the movie section, maybe the members can select the options that they are most interested and we can keep a running list of the requests.

John Wick 2 and Civil War look amazing in cinematic.. the difference over the disc is obvious..
Not only is it more clear.. and color pop.. the motion is where the biggest difference is… and where pixel peeping won’t do it justice

I would simply like to know who the genius calibrator who aapears to with the best intentions meddle with Kaleidescape’s Dolby Vision encodes and imposing the JVC cinema aesthetic on everything. I understand that there may be a particular creative philosophy and self apointed Fiduciary Obligations of the Film Grader and Directors Intent behind these choices, but in this case the Dolby Vision implementation now appears to be broken, and half of the new content will not play at ALL in CinemaScape. Your amazing technical contributions have a clear boundary: where you srtart affecting other people's perfectly content happy life. I hate this!!!!!

Kaleidescape already had an exceptional Dolby Vision product. Please leave a great thing alone rather than altering something that was already working beautifully. Stick to Your HDR10 444. It is not my fault you don't own a cinemascope videowall - where Dolby Vision is de rigueur, director's, colorist, grader all their collective intent can shine my shoes and I can tell them where else to start inserting their creative "intentious". A pretty corrupt group - did you know that the cinema Architect for Speilberg. Bruckheimer and Michael Bay is serving a 30 year sentence for pedophilia?

That may or may no be true but it doesn't tell us anything about his calibration skills.

He was actually sentenced to eight years and is now out of prison, but it’s still completely irrelevant to your complaint. You might create more sympathy for your AV issue with a different tone.

I understood what you were saying - just "messing" with you a little . . .
