Wife and I need to watch it. Both my teenage daughters watched it at the cinema and thought it was ok but nothing special.
Most reviews I’ve read seem to think it was brilliant.
Need to view it and form an opinion.

Good to know. Thanks.

I have a PS5 but I’ve never tried any content from the Core App.
From some research, I think it's only accessible from a compatible Sony TV. And not from the ps5 unfortunately.

It’s definitely available on the PS5. I have the app on there. I’ve just never used it.

It was notable when they made the app available since it was locked behind Sony Bravia TVs.

Unfortunately, the Sony Pictures Core app on the PS5 doesn't support the high-bitrate "Pure Stream" that Bravia TV's support. So, PS owners basically get a Sony-focused digital store with standard streaming quality. Given Sony's history with digital movie rights on their consoles, I can't recommend the service.

AH, thank you. I didn't know there was a quality difference. (Now I have even less reason to try it, haha)

Shane Lee had pinned an update on his Spiderman review stating TV only, and he's pretty reliable. In this instance, I wish he and LoveCinema were wrong. But I trust they verify before posting.

Incredible picture quality and a fun atmos mix with strong bass at times. Slightly crushed blacks to my eyes on Bravia9mk2 and A95L but maybe it’s just me.
I purchased it day one on my Strato K via 4KC Dolby Vision, gave it a quick look and thought it looked really good on my LG G6 97 inch OLED. Didn’t notice any issues with video and the audio sounded great. Although I didn’t watch it from start to finish I plan to watch it in full this weekend and will report back with any issue I find 👍

Day one purchase here as well. Fwiw 4KC looked amazing in my HT (NZ800/ 160” screen). The audio (atmos) is very dynamic with some incredible object placement/movement and panning effects. Bass is a tad underwhelming, but overall quite balanced and the badass atmos mix makes up for it. One of the better audio mixes to come out this year. I would dare say it’s reference quality. Of course as with everything else in life…ymmv.

I demoed some scenes again earlier today on my 77” A95L and it was outstanding. The colors seem more saturated and crisp compared to previous iterations of this particular (Tom Holland) Spiderman series.

Just wish the IMax version is unlocked for the digital/ physical platforms.
