Project Hail Mary

There is talk about a May 12th digital release date, fingers crossed 🤞
Interesting, I wonder if that's why Universal pulled Mario forward? (And just dropped the pre-order price on other digital stores to $19.99.)

The last Mario was a record setter upon its digital release (later bested by Wicked), and I'm sure Universal would like to see that repeat.

There’s a placeholder available for PHM on Blu-ray.com. Looks like we may get this on disc by August. Hopefully the digital release gets materialized before that, on 5/12.

“MGM (via Alliance Entertainment) will be releasing Project Hail Mary on 4K tentatively on August 11th. A new B&N listing just went up. The page isn't fully active, and will likely be taken down, but it does have UPC connected to it. Will update the post when more info comes out.”

Still bugs me that while no VOD date is known sites like Apple and Fandango have pre-order up....makes me nervous when K does not have a pre-order for a movie that its a sign they do not know if they will even have it. I mean the pre-order for Mario World went up pretty much the day it opened in theaters.

Neither Apple nor Fandango have pre-orders up for Project Hail Mary. They've got info/spaceholder pages up. K doesn't do that. This is a major release from a major studio, K will absolutely get it on the release day just like other digital stores.

Also, MGM/Amazon has been moving the goal posts around on this particular title. When this happens, K usually takes a couple of days longer, but does get the file posted to the store.

Yikes, this film is going to be a headache with all the AR switching. Normally I would lock the aspect to 2.39 but it sounds like for this film you shouldn’t do that since it’s part of the storytelling (flashbacks in 2.39). Maybe the home release will be locked in a single AR, I’m one to hope it is.

The fact thats its not up on K store ...makes me sad....err nervous!
It's not up anywhere. It'll likely be announced tomorrow morning and pre-orders may or may not happen. K will get it. K has probably has the mezzanine files for a bit. MGM's last theatrical to digital new release was Mercy and K got that if it's any consolation. This is blockbuster territory, no chance K misses or waits a month to upload it.

Cool. Always worried that high expectations and a bit of hype here and there take the edge off a movie when you get to watch it but looking forward to this one. It's been a slow start to the year so far it seems which I can tell because Of my credit card :)
