Delighted at the upgrades, but any chance of one for us Saving Private Ryan fans.
A lack of HDR/Atmos version in Kaleidescape is one that perplexes me every time I get a notification of upgrades and it isn’t there .
Anything you can give us on that one?

Unfortunately no update on that title at this time, but as soon as we can make that film available in 4k we will.
I have been having repeated problems with downloads not completing and the history on the Terra showing "awaiting playback authorization." The only way I resolved the issue was by deleting the title from the server, waiting for the Store to recognize that the title was no longer downloaded, and then re-downloading the title. This worked until this weekend. Yesterday I saw that the Store download page shows the title as downloaded and completed, but the Terra history page showing that some titles still needed playback authorization. This did not occur on every download. It was intermittent and this really puzzles me. My system upgraded to kOS 10.9.0-21934 on January 15. The problem has only ever occurred since this update.Sorry about that. We have known issue in the current version of kOS that the last download in the queue doesn't receive a playback authorization if the system is in idle or standby mode. And the mechanism that removes the old version of the movie you are updating waits until it gets confirmation that the new version has downloaded and is authorized. Thus, the update doesn't get marked as "Completed" until a) the system is taken out of standby mode by user activity; or b) another download is started.
We have fixed this in the next version of kOS. In the meantime, you can work around it by doing one of the two activities I mention above: take your system out of standby or queue another download.
You were looking for an excuse to sit down and watch another movie anyway, right?
Yes, this is my issue with the updates as well. My control system gives me timestamps but to get them I have to actually play each custom scene and note the start and stop times. It would be nice if there were a easier way to get these.A suggestion to Kaleidescape regarding movie updates and saved scenes:
First, I’d like to make it clear that I love the movie update feature that Kaleidescape is now offering. It is so nice now to get an automatic notice for improved versions available!
The only consternation I have is that the update destroys any custom made scenes. I understand there may be no technical way around this issue, as the new update may have different timestamps.
The suggestion I would like to offer is the ability to view timestamps for the beginning and end point of my saved scenes. Although these timestamps may be different for the updated version of the movie, they would at least give an approximation to make it easier to recreate.
On that note, it would be nice when creating new scenes, that there be an option to manually enter the timestamps for start and end.
Just a suggestion,
Dave Little
The fix for this issue is included in kOS 10.9.1-22013 which began rolling out to production earlier this week. We've already touched base with Wayne directly, but for others who may be interested - the problem Wayne describes is a bug that affects only a couple of systems with very large libraries. (Long story short, something is timing out during the playback authorization process on these systems.) There is a fix coming shortly for those affected. Our apologies for the trouble!
Here it is!Excellent on “Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague”! Looking forward to the HDR version with the excellent Atmos soundtrack!
