Movie Updates

Maybe I’m in the minority… but I’d love to see the “Transformers” movies in cinematic… the fast pace action, fast cuts…, I think would be a very noticeable upgrade. “Age of Extinction” and “The Last Knight” even have the imax footage fully on point.
Hopefully they will add the transformers movies to Cinematic 4k 👍

The Transformers movies still have outstanding updates from the early Strato V days. These titles got Dolby Atmos tracks as part of their Dolby Vision updates that weren’t added to the HDR10 versions. K said DV updates were being pushed through for the new player but updates for prior players should be in the pipeline (sound familiar?). If these titles go Cinematic, let’s hope they include new HDR10 versions with Atmos.

Finally original Jurassic Park movies in Cinematic 4K!
Not if you have a cinemsacope screen and prefer Dolby Vision for that punchy look. Quite a bit of titles clicking both of those boxes trigger a Black screen Of Death. Personally pissed off about Despicable 4, and JP III but at least 10 others are affected.

The engineering department has identified a problem with certain titles when playback using CinemaScape. If you configure for 16:9 instead of CinemaScape should avoid the lock up. A fix for the problem will be released in a future firmware, although we do not have an ETA or if it will be on the next firmware. The alternative would be to avoid the titles that cause the crash.

I feel like there’s at least one new 4KC update in my existing catalog every single day. I’m not worried about individual titles yet, they’re pumping out a lot of titles as is. Once they slow down and I’ve still got gaps, I’ll ask about them.

In the meantime, since all these movies are growing 150% in size and I was already 80% full when I got my Strato K, I added another server to the mix. I recommend folks do the same if you’re also maxing out your space, especially as AI server farms eat all the available memory production capacity.

Yes and the original Superman movies featuring the late great Christopher Reeve. Need more DC titles to get the full treatment. They’ve unfortunately been slightly sidelined.

I have downloaded a number of movies in C HDR10 and (regular HDR10) because I think that format works best with my projector. Every time I open the movie updates page, these are all showing as update available, the update being DV. For my system, DV is not an upgrade.

I don't recall this happening when I had the Strato E, but that may be my faulty memory.

Is there a way to configure this so that I only see the real upgrades, or am I stuck with an ever expanding movie updates page?
