Last movie watched

Watched Mando and Grogu for the first time last night. Visually (admitted on my limited projector) was stunning. Great visuals, moving between aspect ratios was great. The score was fantastic. I will say this, the sound effects group seems to be lacking at Disney. There were times were I was expecting something, crashing into a table, or something dropped to the ground, and the sound fx was lacking. Nothing to do with K but Disney just felt lazy.
Just purchased this one today, so looking forward to watching later this week.

I really loved this one. One of my favorite Stars Wars movies. The audio, video and storyline were all excellent. I even liked the music on this one.

Watched Made tonight. Had a tough time debating between the cinematic version and the Lionsgate Limited 4k disc (with the atmos track). Finally decided to roll with the disc and I’m so glad that I did so. The atmos mix is fantastic with outstanding ambience, surround activity and seamless pans. Was really pleasantly surprised with how well the front wides were utilized throughout the presentation.

Hopefully K could incorporate this mix down the road.

Vince Vaughn is terrific. This is undoubtedly my favorite Vince Vaughn performance. Had great fun re-visiting this timeless comedy. Highly recommended.

Watched Batman Begins 4KC HDR 10 this morning. Looked great to my eyes with deep blacks and plenty of detail on show.
I watched Dark Knight Returns the other day. Obviously not KC but I'm waiting on a new projector to upgrade my files to HDR to see if there is a difference. I won't be going down the Strato K route for a long time. Not much benefit for these files, I don't think, to be had by projector users.

I’ve not seen the 4K disc version in ages plus I now have a JVC NZ9 and Lumagen 5348 in the chain so couldn’t say if KC was better than the 4K disc or not. It did look very good though 🙂

Rewatched Sing Street last night in 4K Cinematic. Such a great film (especially if you came of age in the 80's). The film looks great, but watching for the first time on K I was really blown away by how good it sounded. The musical numbers really sounded great.

My first foray into K-Scape was Power Ballad. An obvious choice on the fancy system, since the physical release is 1080p.

I just bought Sing Street! It's been a while since I watched the Blu-ray.

It's coincidental that there's so much John Carney early on with my K-Scape life, but I'm not mad about it ;)

In honor of Pete Crow-Armstrong joining the 40/40 club, and his impending NL MVP award, I’m going to enjoy Little Big League which his mother plays a lead in. Wish they could at least give me HD though 😄

Watched Wolf Man (2025) last night. I really feel this is an underrated/ under appreciated horror themed movie, which features some excellent atmosphere.

I was blown away with the innovative sound design. This is arguably one of the most interesting (and dynamic) atmos tracks I’ve experienced in recent times, which utilizes your entire speaker real estate. Recommend a watch.

Great movie (y)

Starting spooky month a bit early.

Much better than I remembered. It has definitely aged well. I wish we could have an option to download
a version with each alternate ending!

Both versions are available digitally but K opted for only the Director's Cut. Submit a request for the Theatrical Cut to: movies@kaleidescape.com

Watched Disclosure Day tonight. Pretty good movie. Lots of lens flare. Good movie... Watched on SDR.

Watching Godzilla KotM. SDR Atmos track. Gotta say the sound track is weak. I'm 1/2 way into the movie and once again, I'm expecting some things and the sound just isn't there. First battle between Godzilla and Ghidorah and I'd expect some loud sound effects from the mouth attacks and they just fall flat. I'd expect the attacks to be loud and encompassing the entire 3D sound envelope and its just on the front channels.

This is the kind of thing I fear with Dolby. Historically, companies that only mix in Dolby take the shortcut and do not do a good job on mixing.

Rented The End of Oak Street. It was entertaining. Some very good low end .
Sound quality was good . If you like Dino 🦕 movies you will like it .
