KEAOS (Software) UPDATES

There's no policy in place to update standalone systems on the same account in lockstep. All components in the same system have to be on the same version, but for standalone players, the timing can differ.

Just got my STRATO V updated today at 2:10pm MST! Was reading thru some comments on here and it appears a reboot/restart from the web settings menu is recommended? Any advice on this? Standalone sV.

When a software update is downloaded and unpacked, the system will automatically reboot itself during an idle period to apply the upgrade. So if your system is running the new build it has already rebooted. Rebooting it again is redundant and will likely just interrupt any background processes that may be running.

My V updated to kOS 26.1.1-27063 on August 24,

HDR10/Dolby Vision fixes (Strato K, V, E, M)
  • HDR10 content now plays with correct metadata.
  • Dolby Vision content output as HDR10 will now preserve the original dynamic range more faithfully, avoiding tone-mapping.

Do have any idea what "more faithfully" actually means? :)

Pretty sure I am still better off avoiding DV versions with my JVC but might try a few titles I had issues with DV->HDR10 in the past out to see if I notice any improvement.
