Anyone else noticing higher downloads times as of late?

Well, why then just stop using it? It gets really annoying people throwing all that AI guessing into the discussion and the people in the know have to read it all and correct it...
It’s worrying times how many people use A.I to answer everything when it literally just pulls any old crap that’s been input into it and has no idea what is true or false and just assumes if someone has said something it must be true.

Absolutely crazy and perfect example of why not to rely on it, here in the UK the head of one of the police forces used Co-pilot to decide to ban a football match on anti-semitism grounds but when it was actually looked into, it had made up previous issues which were used to make the decision. That bellend obviously got fired/forced to leave.

People are getting too lazy to even bother googling and checking themselves and just want A.I to tell them but it should come with serious warnings that it’s not giving facts.

My download speeds vary all the time.
If I am watching a movie and downloading it is a lot slower.

I’m several months into owning my Strato E.
I have a 1.5 GB Internet connection.

Going over my movie download speeds The average has been pretty constant over this time and up until lately.
An average of about 10 to 15 minutes for a 4K HDR file, 4 to 8 minutes for an HD file.

There was one moment about a month ago for a few downloads took extra long. Like 20 minutes for a couple of titles. And I remember thinking “ uh oh…”

But it seems like the average has come back to the baseline.

Fortunately my download speeds have been fine on the SSD (4-bay 31tb) server. I have Fios 5gig connection.

@J.Green is there a reason download speeds cap around ~2000. Shouldn’t they go higher around 2400 on 2.5gb port? What is the max download rate that you see on ssd server?

Your photo was a little blurry, can you take another one.
I just upgraded to Fios 5g. I think you are giving me inspiration to get an SSD server.

If I am watching a movie and downloading it is a lot slower.
This is normal as kOS will throttle downloads in favour of playback. This is especially true for HDD-based filesystems. Throttling on SSD-based filesystems isn't as severe but can happen under various circumstances
What is the max download rate that you see on ssd server?
The max rate is around 2300 Mbps. On average, Terra Prime SSD servers tend to be in the 2100-2200 Mbps range. As always, these speeds can be affected by a myriad of things: network configurations, distance/hops from the CDN edge server, ISP traffic shaping to name but a few.

I never download while watching so have ruled that out.

Is there a reliable way to determine if ISP(Spectrum) is doing something specific to accessing or downloading from the K store?

Its really the only other thing that I can think of to explain the speeds I am getting since every other test and downloads from steam, PS5, XBX, etc hit my max speeds. I even disconnected everything in my network ...leaving just the modem->router->strato. Router is a Unifi Gateway Fiber so maybe its doing something new? there have been a few updates from Unifi recently. I do not use packet inspection or anything like that.

I have noticed a little longer downloads to my V/HDD 8tb as well. I am thinking file sizes are getting a little bigger as K and studios are producing more immersive copies.

I get a max of around 1500 Mbps on a Terra Prime HDD. Is this about right?

Show off! ....j/k :)
I know your joking, but certainly not my intention. Genuinely curious what the maximum speed of different servers is, and how close I am getting.

So, anyways -

I previously had 1G Comcast service which maxed out around 1150 Mbps.
My non-Prime HDD server has been downloading in the 700s Mbps. Not great, but I think I was getting better previously. The drives being nearly full may be playing a role.
My Prime HDD server was downloading consistently close to 1150 Mbps, so no problem with my network.

I recently upgraded to 2G Comcast service which is maxing at around 2350 Mbps. Looks like I could max out my internet with a SSD server, but I see no real need.
I actually downloaded Revenant on my Prime HDD server at 1624 Mbps average, so better than I previously reported.

I get a max of around 1500 Mbps on a Terra Prime HDD. Is this about right?
Under ideal conditions, you might hit 1800-1900 Mbps with a Terra Prime (HDD).
Keep in mind that for HDD-based filesystems, download speeds can be heavily influenced by disk write speeds which are affected by where on the platter the file(s) are being written to. This is to say that the download speeds you hit can be much more variable than with SSD-based servers.

And AI will just use all these forum conversations as more evidence to back up their already inaccurate responses. When people throw out AI responses knowing full well they're probably inaccurate, it's just perpetuating false information and giving the machine a larger pool of "evidence" and "sources" to back it's incorrect responses.

Hannity: "Well, Jesse Watters, Maria Bartiromo, Brit Hume and Greg Gutfeld, just to name a few."
