NOTES:

Little Shop of Horrors (HD) currently on K is still missing its Alternate Cut and Extras due to the Strato HD Compatibility update. Let's hope K gets the 4K version (both cuts if available) and the HD version gets restored. (Rocky Horror's HD version was never fully restored with its Alternate Cut.)

The Blair Witch Project (HD) is highly unlikely to make it to K but I want to call attention to it. When originally released theatrically the video footage was transferred to 35mm film removing the native look of the video and adding grain to the entire film. This was then used as the basis for all prior home releases. This new version goes back to the original video sources. I watched this earlier this year and found it enough of a change to feel like I was seeing the film fresh again. Definitely worth it for fans, but as stated you may want to order the disc.

Sweeney Todd should be on K in 4K. Did its inclusion as the "secret" title in the Paramount Screams boxset doom it for K? "It's horror, don't get it." This is also a musical, K gets those. This is also a Tim Burton 4K upgrade, K gets those. This is now receiving its THIRD physical re-release because it's so popular. K should get it. This is ridiculous. Get those requests in to: movies@kaleidescape.com

Really hope we get The Cable Guy in 4k from Sony

[Edgar]

Definitely getting Dead Poets Society and Little Shop of Horrors. I’d expect both to appear on K. I have the Little Shop steelbook on preorder. Both of those titles are festival-worthy.

In disc exclusives, I’ve got Forbidden Planet from Arrow Video (9/29) and Guillermo Del Toro’s Frankenstein from Criterion (10/27) on pre-order. Also both festival-worthy!

[Broncowrangler]

I have pre-ordered little shop of horrors. Some more titles include 28 days later, interview with the Vampire steelbook (hopefully drops on K) and the original Masters of the Universe (Toy Robot video- Arrow video subsidiary).

[macfan2k24]

Pre-ordered The Last Boy Scout from Arrow Video. Oct 12th release on Arrow’s site, but the 13th everywhere else I look. I understand why, but really wish we could get these on K.

I find myself watching and ordering discs more these days than using K. These boutique distributors are really exclusively catering to my tastes.

That reminds me, my subscription to Juggs just ran out.

Ain’t life a bitch?

[LoveCinema]

Pretty slim pickings so far, especially if K keeps on their anti-(catalog)horror strategy. However, we should see big titles this period including Moana (September) and Spider-Man: Brand New Day (October) with every other "Summer" film filling in between (The End of Oak Street, Super Troopers 3, Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, The Magic Faraway Tree, Teenage Sex & Death at Camp Miasma, Insidious: Out of the Further, Dog Stars, etc.).

Haven’t seen any proper reviews of the disc version yet, I upgraded from the HD copy just because but given it was filmed in 480p and it is easily the worst Blu-ray I own picture quality wise, I’m expecting it to now be the worst 4K movie and still look terrible.

And 4K Cinematic for a horror title (!) on K with the worst PQ ever is a double doozy!

Yeah, it still doesn't look great, but it's a noticeable improvement over the BD IMO, because they got rid of the terrible over sharpening filter that was on the BD/HD Version.
