Perhaps mods should lock this thread to future posts by anyone but @Rmarci so he can continue posting the valuable information and it will stop devolving into endless bickering?

Guys, I have no desire to continually comment in this thread, just don't attack people posting comments you don't like or accept. You can certainly respond, just keep the sarcastic comments out of the posts, and refrain from making comments (like those backhanded slights above) that just create more back and forth bickering that detract from this thread. You're wasting your time going at me, there's nothing you can say that affects me in the least, my life is too good. I'm not in a battle you guys, I just want the bickering and personal attacks on members that have a different viewpoint or comment to stop.

One important note addressing comments, or insinuations, that this site protects K's interests. There are two problems with those comments. The first is the deluded thinking that somehow this thread is that important, it is not. It is a thread in a forum, nothing more, it has value to a group of people that find the information useful. It doesn't affect K or dealer sales in any meaningful way, probably not at all, so no dealer participating in this forum is posting to protect a financial interest. There is zero concern that this thread could affect the viability of K as a business, it cannot, and does not, so there is no need for any of us to "protect" K, the company is doing just fine.

In addition, there are many, many posts in this forum that have been critical of K as a company, its products, and its policies, including by moderators. This is not a Kaleidescape owned nor influenced forum, it is a forum established by Josh to provide a place K owner's could use to share information about their K systems, new K products, K support, anything related to K specifically, and AV in general. It is called the "Kaleidescape OWNER'S Forum," not the "Kaleidescape Forum."

We don't want to take additional actions, but if that comes about it won't be because of any desire to prevent negative comments about some content in the K Store, it will be based on the conduct of some members posting in this thread. Conduct, not content, is important in this regard, so please don't force us to do something there is no desire to do, just stick to the purpose of this thread and keep the posts friendly.

100% not true, and we both know it.

KS can have posts edited or deleted here; they literally did it a few days ago for one of the dumbest reasons imaginable, which is why I mocked them in my post with their deceptive slider comparison.

I won’t say exactly what was edited, but here’s a simple example:

Imagine Disney going on an NVIDIA Shield forum and asking them to remove a post from someone who said they were watching a ripped Blu-ray Disc they legitimately bought because of obvious disc protection issues.

Yeah, keep telling yourself that… The fact is, this thread is the best thing to ever happen to KS. Without it, you’d still be watching tons of releases with inaccurate colors and very poor compression.

Just because it’s not important to YOU (and others) doesn’t mean this thread isn’t important.

Maybe you should be the one sticking to the purpose of this thread and stop repeating the same thing a million times. We get it:

1- This thread doesn’t matter to you
2- nothing is affecting you
3- no quality issues are affecting you
4- KS sales aren’t affected

@Rmarci, K doesn't have influence over this forum, but we will not be a party to violations of the SLA or IP rights owned by K. I learned over the past 25 years that K doesn't allow anyone to violate their IP, or violate the SLA (for owners). Your post was deleted for one reason and one reason only, it was pointed out to us by counsel that it violated K's rights, and this forum won't be a party to any violation of ANY companies rights. I assume you received a similar notice yourself.

ps: Josh can contact me as much as he wants; he’s always been kind and respectful. Cinelife, don’t even think about PMing me again about how many KS units were sold, lol.

The comment about being unimportant, if you take the time to read the full context, was related to statements that we are protecting K's interest and doing their bidding, and my point is that some of the negative comments based on your findings are not important enough for anyone, not me, not K, not other dealers, to shut you down. Logically if we thought otherwise, and were actually doing what you state, this thread wouldn't be 52 pages long. I'll repeat what I said earlier, if this thread goes away it will be because of conduct, not content. Not sure how much clearer I can make it.
You are posting evaluations that some members find helpful and valuable, let's leave it at that and end the back and forth bickering.

Perhaps you could create a normal user account that we can ignore so you can make those biased comments, and keep that admin account only for actual moderation without being obviously biased, such as:

“Please keep the discussion civil, everyone.”
“Let’s focus on the topic and avoid personal attacks.”
“Reminder: off-topic posts may be removed.”
“Thanks for your input, let’s move on to the next point.”
“Please follow the forum rules to keep this thread constructive.”
