Not sure why but it's happened on a couple of movies recently. There is a post on here about an update but when I go to look it's already got the changes mentioned. Nothing is flagged as available? This is another one. I bought this in September and not updated it since if that's a clue. Is it because a DV version has further improvements to it that haven't been extended to the HDR version? I only have a C player currently in a movie/projector room.

It’s a Strato V Compatibility update. You’ll only see it in the Movie Updates section if you own a Strato V. If you want this update, or any of the others, you can go to the Strato V HD Compatibility page.

I’m not sure. I don’t have a V and this movie was in the regular Movie Updates page. I have several other updates under the Strato V HD compatibility page. But the update also ads compatibility so it maybe shows on both pages.

If they touch other attributes of the file, like audio or extras, that can cause it to show up as an update for all. If you care about things like Extras or Additional Cuts, be very careful with these HD Compatibility Updates. Some of them are a (temporary) downgrade. The update language may say "Added Extras" when what really happened was all of the HD Extras were downgraded to SD Extras. Stuff like that.

It's always worth comparing the update listing with what's already on your system to see if you really want it. Hopefully this kind of thought process goes away once the entire Strato V HD update phase is over.

That must be correct. I that's how I thought it worked. But it's strange why this particular film did not show up in regular under the Movie Updates tab for @Oldred . He downloaded his in September and I downloaded mine in October.

I have 135 movies here waiting with update for the reasons you describe. It's kind of much work to check the ones downloaded as well.

I think it's happened probably 3 or 4 times at least now. I have discounted it before to look at later but never quite got around to checking the history etc. I did check back yesterday for LA Conf and the only download was the original purchase. If erixon is seeing it then I am not sure why I wouldn't?

the improvement we need is a 4k release of this! Its a shame the criterion 4k version was abandoned recently :(

Very disappointing. This was being worked on my Kino Lorber at time of cancellation, and Criterion has been mentioned by speculators as a possible cause. Hopefully, someone is working on it. Regardless, as an NBCUniversal title if it gets published by a boutique label it likely won’t show up on K.
