I was hoping that changing the HDCP setup setting would also fix it, but it seems like it doesn’t always work.

It seems to work on and off. Quite sure it is related to HDCP handshake issue between K and Denon. If you change HDMI settings in AVR or disconnect and replug the HDMI from AVR it reestablishes the connection and fixes the issue. You can note this on K as you will get “secure connection restored popup at top”. Keep a DV movie paused on K while you do that.So far, this is the only solution.

For the sake of clarity when connected directly to the tv I was using the 4th hdmi input.
I had “enhanced format (Dolby vision) from the Sony HDMI signal format settings selected.
Did the same on the 3rd hdmi earc input. (Set to Enhanced format (Dolby Vision)
I sent my unit back 5mins ago.
I’m not in the U.S. had a friend traveling back.
So I didn’t want to lose on that.
I didn’t want to return it.
I waited a long time to get the Strato V.
Been wanting a Kaleidoscape for years now.
Not sure if it’s a hardware issue or a software issue.
Not sure I made the right call.
But watching movies only had me waiting for blackouts to happen..
As a result my mood would dull each time..
I’m sure others would ignore it and I’m sure I could find a way to live with it too.
But the experience felt like a burden needing to be addressed.
Very strange I hope this gets fixed soon.
I heard back from Kaleidescape support with this:
The receiver specifications reports that it supports the latest HDMI specifications such as 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz pass-through, VRR, ALLM, Dynamic HDR, HDR10+ and eARC support.
Dolby Vision is not listed as a supported feature. https://www.denon.com/en-us/product/avr-x6700h/300005.html
I responded with this:
That is not true! I have several devices connected to the AVR and it does support Dolby Vision, and that fact is indicated on the Info screen when receiving Dolby Vision signal. Here are the specs which clearly indicate that it supports Dolby Vision:

This is Denon's fault as well, they have conflicting statements regarding DV. Some parts of their site do not show DV listed, while others do. If a person only read what, apparently, Support saw when they looked up that model, you'd think DV wasn't available. A closer read on the site shows what you stated, that it does support DV.

I did get another response from Kaleidescape support indicating that I should reach out to Denon. It seems like it's back to the "not our problem" so you need to contact the other device manufacturer in the equation. Not sure I will contact Denon at this point?
I'd like to be clear about something though: assuming that the receiver is indeed sending the Dolby Vision signal through and the TV is interpreting it, what exactly is the concern with the receiver's OSD not showing Dolby Vision? It's obviously not right, but it doesn't affect watching the movie, right? Certainly, the pink issue would also be pretty annoying, but again, this is not happening while watching the movie, correct?
There’s nothing to fix on KScape’s end. The Denon AVR reporting RGB 8 bit for DV is perfectly normal! That is what is sent when you send TV-Led DV. It is a tunneled 8 bit RGB signal that carries the encapsulated DV signal along with the RPU, FEL/MEL, added info to get full 12 bit support, etc.I have an HD Fury Vrroom (which supports 8K) but when I connected the Strato V to this device I just got a blank screen when viewing the Strato. I thought this might just bring on a new set of problems. As Mike said above, the TV is recognizing the Dolby Vision, so it may be better to wait to see if Kaleidescape fixes it with an update.
Denon’s have no problem handling Dolby Vision, I used to have a 2200w, an AVR that came out in 2015 mind you, and that later had a FW update to add Dolby Vision and I never had a problem with it accepting DV properly from an UB820, various streaming devices or LLDV from an Xbox. I currently have a 3800h and it too has no issues with DV from the UB820, Apple TV 4k 3rd gen, Fire Stick 4K Max or Xbox. There’s nothing to fix on KScape’s end. If your Denon doesn’t display DV it’s on them. You can tell this because your TV is reporting and showing the proper DV signal.
When you switch to LLDV it’s sending a YCbCr 4:2:2 10 bit signal, not RGB 8 bit, so it will display normally on your AVR.
I advise you to contact Denon Support.
This is good to hear. I watched tonight without issue but it wasn’t a DV movie. Tomorrow I will watch the final MI movie and seeTo reset expectations and to be perfectly clear, the kOS update that is currently in the process of rolling out (10.19.0-25343) does not include fixes for the audio or video drops and colour issues you are all reporting on this thread nor did Mike allude to these fixes being in this release. The kOS 10.19.0 release includes fixes for the excessive sharpening of video and improves the blurry cover art images that were being displayed when the Strato V is in CinemaScape mode.
We are working on determining the cause of the audio and video drop issues in Engineering as our highest priority. Please rest assured that we are not ignoring the problem.
For the pause menu issue?Nothing to fix on Kscape’s end…Contact Anthem.
Why would he contact Anthem since these drop outs can be reproduced?Nothing to fix on Kscape’s end…Contact Anthem.
I'm using 6 other inputs on the Anthem AVM90 and none of my other devices have any issues at all. The Anthem HDMI signal for all my other devices (PS5, Xbox, Switch, Shield TV Pro, Fios One, and Oppo 205) has zero dropout or handshake issues. Even when I switch between devices there are no issues. I even tried testing going direct from the Strato V into the LG G1 (completely bypassing the Anthem AVM). This was recommended by my dealer. I still had the same exact issue on all the movies I mentioned above, at the same movie locations. Not to mention, movies that aren't DV haven't had the same reproducable issues with the Strato V. This is 100% a Kaleidescape issue.Nothing to fix on Kscape’s end…Contact Anthem.
You are correct in the above statement. Someone from KScape has commented on this thread that they are working on addressing these issues in a future update and it has a high priority. This has nothing to do with your AVM90.I do believe somewhere in this thread someone from Kscape said their engineers are looking at this as they have had a lot of service tickets on it. I also think this is when Strato V is not tied in with any other Kscape equipment.
ThanksYou are correct in the above statement. Someone from KScape has commented on this thread that they are working on addressing these issues in a future update and it has a high priority. This has nothing to do with your AVM90.
I read somewhere above that there is nothing wrong with kscape…we needed to contact denon, so I assumed that was applicable to other manufacturers as well. My bad….Why would he contact Anthem since these drop outs can be reproduced?
So all these AVRs have no issue with other devices besides Strato V and somehow its Denon or Anthem's fault? I think not.I read somewhere above that there is nothing wrong with kscape…we needed to contact denon, so I assumed that was applicable to other manufacturers as well. My bad….

So the KSV sends 8 bit RGB DV, the Denon takes in and reports it as 8 bit RGB, the display shows and renders proper 8 bit RGB DV and reports it as such, but the issue is with the KSV???So all these AVRs have no issue with other devices besides Strato V and somehow its Denon or Anthem's fault? I agree, that’s what I told the poster who was facing similar issues on his Anthem. I suggested he should contact anthem. It’s nothing to fix on the V.So the KSV sends 8 bit RGB DV, the Denon takes in and reports it as 8 bit RGB, the display shows and renders proper 8 bit RGB DV and reports it as such, but the issue is with the KSV???
Isn’t the issue the DENON NOT displaying a DV logo when it should, even though it receives and sends it out properly???
Please explain how this isn’t the Denon’s fault for improperly reporting the signal it’s receiving because apparently the signal is fine, as demonstrated by the TV showing and reporting it completely and correctly?
My issue is different with the Anthem. And, it happens reproducibly with the Anthem completely out of the signal chain. So the KSV sends 8 bit RGB DV, the Denon takes in and reports it as 8 bit RGB, the display shows and renders proper 8 bit RGB DV and reports it as such, but the issue is with the KSV???
