Movie Updates

Bullet Train

Changes in this update:
  • Added extras (In HD and separate download 4K)
  • Audio and video improvements (HDR)
This made me wonder: what happens if the original download is not available at the time you hit Begin Update? Specifically in this case, would it pull the HD version to the Terra when the prior version is on a Premiere server not currently online, or will it only deal with the HDR copy and re-offer when the other server comes back?

This interesting. I rented the HDR version of Bullet Train last month. I wonder what kind of HDR improvements were made.

I might add the following updates that have presented themselves on my system:

Equalizer 3 4K HDR: Audio and visual improvements.
Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom 4K HDR: Dolby Atmos Track added; video quality improvements; additional audio tracks.
Spiderman 4K HDR: Dolby Atmos Track added; additional audio tracks.

Oblivion and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood already mentioned.

Sometimes, I'm confused about these titles because the download size doesn't make sense to me. For instance, the 4K DV/HDR version is 82Gb whereas, the HD Extended version is 85.4Gb and it's only 10 minutes longer. The fact that it's 4K should make it much larger than the HD version, despite the 10-minute difference.

In this case the HD incudes both versions of the movie and Special Features / Deleted Scenes. That probably adds the extra GB

Why is the extended version not 4k? I know I have it on 4k disc. One of most favorites movies of all time.

Good question, I believe it was at one point, my downloaded copy shows I own the 4K version.
Really? I wonder if this is a situation where a later "update" was actually a downgrade (Logan?), or if something got lost in the mix (Spider-Man?). Logan previously included the B&W Noir version, but at some point that was removed (Deliberate I assume, perhaps by Disney?). Meanwhile, Spider-Man (Raimi) was apparently in 4K HDR at some point, was then only UHD for years, then it snapped back to HDR more recently (Mistake? Weird Contract?).

The Martian Extended Edition is actually one of the HD titles incompatible with Strato V. I would assume if K had the 4K in their pocket that would be a quick way to gain compatibility. Maybe @MikeKobb might know the story here?*

*The UI for this title can be confusing as it will show the gold checkbox on it, even though it's HD only, if you own The Martian (regular) in 4K.

I actually forgot about that issue with this title, and yes, I do own both. I was certain I'd watched it already in 4K HDR, but I might be wrong. I'll check it shortly.
