Last movie watched

The unbearable weight of massive talent - I had heard good things about this movie and picked it up in the sale. Only after watching it did I find out that it had disappointing box office despite positive reviews and audience response. The good news is that we both enjoyed it. :)

Cage and Pascal bounce off each other throughout a ‘nested’, self deprecating, mickey take that somehow works due to those performances. Chuckles, action and Cage. Takes you back.

We did "Christmas Vacation" with the family last night for the first time with the sweet new 4K HDR upgrade on K. It was kind of pushing the envelope with our kids (at least my younger one) for how we assess and choose content in our household, but it's such a holiday classic to me so I advocated to just do it versus waiting another year.

That's solid parenting right here! Dad of the year type stuff. Where do I send in the nomination? I do understand though, sometimes it's a delicate balance on when is the right time.

Glad to hear the 4K upgrade looks good, haven't watched it yet, but same with my house it's a Christmas tradition.

LOL, when my wife and I were talking about whether we should do it yet or not, we were considering the reasons (language, sexy content, and so on), my older kid makes a comment like "I heard more bad words at Mom's big family get together on Thanksgiving than I'll probably hear in the movie". We both looked at each other, shrugged our shoulders, and were like "yup, let's go watch it".

One of the bigs things in the movie though is casting shade on the concept of Santa, and we are right there on the realization coming for our youngest. So we don't want to let that go quite yet.

Skyfall - always one of my favourite Bond movies and we are currently working our way through the Daniel Craig Bonds. Skyfall really cemented Craig as a fully blown Bond and the best since Connery for me. It was no disappointment and having uprated the sound and vision since the last viewing, Bond's departure from his family home was certainly memorable.

We just finished season 1 of The Sopranos. Enjoyable, though not as "groundbreaking" in retrospect as it was touted to be at the time.

Just finished After Yang. Fascinating exploration of the morality and ethical questions behind AI tech.

Really love just about anything A24 puts out. They’re doing the most original films out there today. Refreshing to see the craft is still alive.
Have to say that anything A24 puts out I take a serious look at. Will look out for this one now.

I really enjoyed Belfast a couple nights ago. Beautiful cinematography!

Last night we watched 5-25-77. Not on K, but I’ve been waiting for this for awhile and it was finally released on Blu-ray.

Just an awesome story, a love letter to movies and sci-fi and filmmaking. Unfortunately the movie suffers a bit due to the fact filming started in 2004, but not finished until 2017 or so.

If you love movies, you’ll find something to love about this one.

I had not heard of this movie until now. Definitely sounds like it would be worth a viewing.

Watched “The Green Knight”. Technically, a Christmas movie :) Absolutely gorgeous imagery in 4K HDR… it’s also 1:85 ratio for those that can take advantage of the expanded view.

If you like A24, highly recommend. However, don’t expect a marvel-style action movie.

I found the AR on Green Knight is 1.78 versus the Movie Details which shows 1.85

I really enjoyed this movie too… an unexpected journey leading to a great story.
