US Digital Releases for September & October 2026

Since Gone With The Wind is getting a 4k Blu-ray release tomorrow, I have a strong suspicion this will get a 4k / cinematic update either tomorrow or in the near future. Some digital platforms (iTunes/Amazon) have already received the update.

Already on the UK store 😉

Cinematic DV, HDR10 and SDR and same for standard 4K. 219Gb for the Cinematic files, 148Gb for 4K.

If you click the HD icon on the gone with the wind in the app that shows the file sizes, you can see all file formats and Cinematic DV at 219.2 gb. So the movie should be coming to US store but you can’t buy it yet.

I don't think he exhibits the polished, sophisticated, suave and debonair demeaner one expects of 007. For me, it will be hard to separate my memory of him in this role as the creature in Frankenstein. Don't recall Sean Connery, Roger Moore, or Daniel Craig in a similar role. This is my issue that may not bother others.
Trending on social media is that they selected Callum Turner, but wait for Amazon to make an official announcement at some point….

I preferred the idea that the next Bond would be an unknown but do agree that of those under consideration, Turner is probably the best suited for the role.

Upgrading a 480p source to 4K Cinematic is definitely a choice, but if it removes the ugly processing from the old Blu-ray, I guess that's something. Still, missing the Atmos track on K when the disc gets it feels like a missed opportunity.

Good catch on that missing shot in 28 Days Later. Funny how going back to the original DigiBeta master for the 4K scan actually ended up bypassing an edit that only existed on the 35mm filmout version.

That's a studio choice in their provided assets, although K should try to throw some weight around and advocate to be treated differently than the streamers in that regard.

Looks like K might get an updated asset soon, as there is a disc replacement program afoot…
