4K HDR Titles in K Store Missing Immersive Audio (Dolby Atmos/DTS:X)

I have found that generally DTS-X has superior overall sound, as does Atmos in most cases expecially on newer releases.
However, there are many DTS-MA sound tracks that are wonderful on KScape. The immersion and sound field are sometimes even better on certain movies than Atmos on others. As has been stated before, it depends on sound design, movie and your sound system and room that it is in. IMHO.

I noticed that you’re based in Europe. There is a French 4k disc (M6) which also features atmos. It’s the only example (as far as I’m aware) which supports an atmos mix. The international versions are available with dts:X.

I have the US version with DtS:X and the aforementioned French disc with atmos and I felt they were both trading punches. There were certain aspects i preferred on the French disc like spaciousness and the transfer appeared to be tighter compared to the universal version.

Also worth noting that the French disc includes Dolby Vision; Universal is HDR10. But you should be pleased with either (immersive) version. This is a fantastic movie.
I currently have the UK disc with DTS:X already, and it’s a very good disc, both in terms of audio and video. Interesting, though, that the French disc has an Atmos track!

Hopefully, Lone Survivor will get the Cinematic treatment at some point, and the regular 4K version will also be updated with one of the immersive tracks then...

See Oblivion for what a Cinematic update will change on the audio front… hint: the answer is nothing because Universal refuse to adorn us with the DTS-X or Atmos mixes on all their early UHDs unless there is a disc re-release!

This is one of my go to demos I really hope at some point we get a upgraded atmos soundtrack 🙁
