US Digital Releases for September & October 2026

Is it special pricing for Pre-order vs. regular release date? Will it go up to $29.99 or $34.99 as we get closer to release?

Also, with Nolan doing the variable aspect ratio on previous releases on BD. So, the question is, will this be in constant 1.78:1.

"The upcoming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey is reported to feature a fixed 1.78:1 aspect ratio rather than a variable aspect ratio (VAR) that shifts between different frames. [1, 2]"
The entire film was shot with the same cameras unlike his previous films, so I don't see any reason that it shouldn't be in a fixed aspect ratio. Which ratio it will be in though is the question since he released it in several different aspects depending on the venue.

No, this should be the highest price it will be on the store. I myself am paying $40 so I can get the Steelbook and digital code, and then pay an additional $4.92 for the WB D2D. Yay!

PRE-ORDER

Instant Buy for me :)
Any idea when this is released on K? will it be before 17th Nov?

Nolan has been pretty vocal about his preference for physical over streaming / digital in the past. Pretty sure I read this will release on PVOD and 4K BD on the same day.

I'm not paying $30 for Hope in regular HD

Colony is only HD on streaming, but got a UHD BD release. At great release, too. Gonna have to sit tight and see what happens with Hopeu...

Pre-ordered the UHD and Kaleidescape for The Odyssey. Unless there’s some mishap in encoding, 4K Cinematic with Dolby Vision will be how I watch this, with the disc for my shelves and the exclusive extras. I know it’ll be D2D eventually, but $24.99 is reasonable for day one of such a big film. Unlike WB’s pricing. I still have trouble justifying their $39.99 Kaleidescape pricing when all other digital stores are $24.99 for their titles.

This is disappointing to discover today as it was one of my most anticipated releases. I'm glad we got the Atmos track, but I thought it'd at least be 4k SDR. Does anybody have any knowledge on the history of Neon releases on their upgrades post release?

It must be a distribution rights thing because there are a few oddities, Splitsville for example is only 4K SDR on US store but the Universal release on the UK store has HDR.

PRE-ORDER

Instant preorder and happy to see it’s only $5 more than Apple. Can’t wait to see this again in the home theater.

Same. Will wait for it to go on sale and hopefully by then they will upgrade to 4K (this is such a visually impressive film that really cries out for a 4K release). Also waiting to see if K drops Colony sometime soon. Was looking to seeing that one as well.

There's a good handful of NEON titles on K that are lower than available quality. I believe there's a mix of "added at lower quality" and "never upgraded with higher quality". So, it's possible but who knows. Right now K matches other sources.

It's the most expensive feature film ever made in South Korea and has a 4K DI. This 1080p business seems almost criminal.

Seems it will be in 1.78… sucks for scope screens with lenses and all. I was hoping a 2.39 release, I don’t use NLS much on 1.78

Unfortunately that's an AI response and is likely slop. Clicking through supporting links shows articles/posts with details of the discs (confirmed as 1.78:1) that also reference the digital release. Having said that, I believe the most likely scenario is both digital and physical releasing in this aspect ratio. However, digital folks hoping for a 2.39:1 release are not without hope at this moment.

Dante's Peak (1997) in DV/HDR/SDr with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from NBCUniversal

Hanging by a Wire (2026) in HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from NBCUniversal

Hope (2026) in HD with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from NEON

Let's Have Kids! (2026) in DV/HDR/SDR/HD with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from Paramount

The Fix (2026) in DV/HDR/SDR/HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from NBCUniversal

The Last Blossom (2025) in HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from Shout Factory

The Sun Never Sets (2026) in SDR/HD with DTS-HD Master 5.1 from AMC Entertainment

Pre-Orders Now Available To Watch
Practical Magic 2 (2026) in C_DV/C_HDR/C_SDR/DV/HDR/SDR/HD with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from Warner Bros

Runner (2026) in SDR/HD with Dolby TrueHD Atmos from Angel Studios

I have heard good things about Hope. I will probably check it out when it drops in price. Surprised it is only in HD though.

Ai slop “confirms through supporting links shows articles/posts with details of discs (confirmed as 1.78:1) that already reference digital release” - where do you think Ai grabs information from? Wow…

It appears I was unclear: AI shows the supporting links for its statements. Its statements are not supported by the links. The links identify the aspect ratio of the discs only. AI then assumes it’s the same for the digital release and declares it as fact. Where do I think AI got the information? It made it up. It does that a lot, but it presents sources so that we can know better.
