I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have everything downloaded but I'd rather put that money towards content or other theater gear.

I’m nearing 1000 and bought an 8TB mini Terra Prime simply because I wanted some more features like the posterwall and to have a bigger movie selection than the 12 or so that fit on the V. If I didn’t have such a huge backlog of movies then I might think differently but as it is it’s nice to have but not a necessity.

That being said if I had the money I would get the 120GB because I’ve bought everything else I want and any significant improvement right now would cost more a lot more (Christie level projector), the electric masking screen is $12k and that’s certainly not the material cost but the fact very few people do it well! If it’s an either or then I full understand not getting one though because it doesn’t add any more performance like 4 beefy subs would.

I say "nearly" as there are certainly some more limited situations where things can be out of K's control. For instance, other digital stores are allowed access to HD assets for PBS series. However, K's offerings match disc releases which are generally lower resolution. Also, they've only received a couple of 4K titles from AMC Entertainment (formerly RLJE) that have HDR. It's such a "rule" that we basically accept it. But, why? That distributor doesn't give HDR? Or maybe they charge so much more for it? So, there's definitely a box of mystery with K Store titles, but it's a pretty small box.

Much as I enjoy your eclectic tastes, I can say 90% of them I have zero interest in or I’ve looked into them and they review terribly and I love some terrible films 😂.

I always look at the top films in the sales and it’s always new releases or popular blockbuster movies like LoTR at the top and I imagine all the data they get and previously had showed how many people had the more obscure or less popular movies. It’s always annoying not to get the best quality movies (I really want all the Ip Man films in 4K) but clearly not enough other owners do to make them profitable.

Interesting how different peoples priorities are. If I had not read on the internet that the Strato Vs ui was not 4k I would not have known.. As it is, even knowing I really do not care....I spend extremely very little time on the UI. Select movie..hit play.

With 4K, you need a very large screen and seating very close to the screen. In my HT, I need to be 8’ away from my 133” screen to fully enjoy 4K. 8K is really not useful for home use. I can see it useful for actual commercial theaters though.

I’m hoping K joins Movies Anywhere. Logically, there should be no need for me to increase storage with only 10 minute downloads, but heck, with MA partnership. I’d be tempted to increase my K storage!

Wild dreaming here...create another tier of 4k content with 100+ mbps video encodes using their latest recipes, give that tier a snazzy name and custom logo, then lean into the "better than everything" marketing.

There might be a debate regarding quality but something similar would surely generate interest and excitement.

Misery on 4k disc averages 100.22 mbps for video alone. Snatch on 4k disc averages 115.13 mbps total bandwidth (video/audio/subs).

Barely beat (or even match) those (record?) titles and you'll get peoples attention.

At the end of the day though HDMI won't have an issue with it. Not sure about other aspects of K's hardware.

Regarding the image, it does look like what you see from the west side of the South Col (also know as Camp IV) on the South approach, but there are a lot of mountains out there!;)
