What is "Cinematic?"

I just double-checked with the team and confirmed that the Dolby Vision 4K (non-Cinematic) versions of those films are in progress so hopefully it won't be too much longer.

Appreciate your feedback on the desire to purchase but not download a movie for your Strato E. Adding this capability the mobile app is a feature we plan to add, although I'm not sure of the exact timeframe. It's definitely a valid use case.

I would like to add my vote for that app feature to buy but not download.

@MikeKobb Hi Mike. I wanted to see if you had any updates regarding The Indiana Jones movies getting standard 4K Dolby Vision. I had also purchased Toy Story 3 and 4 thinking they had now gotten Standard Dolby Vision only to find out it was only Cinematic 4K DV like the Indy movies. Toy Story 3 and 4 now have standard 4K Dolby Vision so hoping The Indy films are soon.

No update regarding timing, I'm afraid. They're definitely planned, but I don't have a timetable to offer.

Thanks. It is good to know they are coming. I just hope they do actually come.

I noticed a few other movies that are Cinematic Dolby Vision but not standard Dolby Vision. Will they all eventually have standard DV?

Most recent example is Edge Of Tomorrow.

I would expect movies that have 4K Cinematic Dolby Vision to also get conventional 4K Dolby Vision releases, yes. I don't want to commit to "all" because it's always possible that there would be some exceptional case that would keep us from releasing one.

Hi @MikeKobb . Wondering if you had any update regarding the Indy movies getting Standard Dolby Vision. I was also wondering about the first Matrix. I know you said that one was an encoding error and that it should be coming soon.

Thank you.

These are still in the works, but I don't have a timeframe to share. The team is working to resolve some issues that produced results that didn't meet our quality bar. We'll get there, but it may take a bit of time.

Appreciate the update. Thank you. Are the quality issues related to the Indiana Jones ones specifically?
