What’s With All the SD Titles in the Store?

Yeah look I'll watch paint dry or 2 flies crack in 4K or HD before I pay for an SD title... its a double edged sword: They don't see a need to upgrade a SD title to HD because nobody is buying it (and we won't). There should not be a single SD title in the store on this platform plain and simple if its available in HD elsewhere... piss on the fee I could give a shit less just have it available.

Yeah, I really appreciate that you can browse the entire K Store before buying a device and highly recommend people do so... extensively. I did so myself but didn't dive as deep as I should have. Also, they used UHD/HDR badging back then and I didn't properly understand, and I didn't expect that there'd be situations where K is missing audio/video present on other digital stores. Ugh.

Oddly, contrary to many of my posts around this season, I'm not a huge horror movie buff. But, at Halloween I like to get in the season and watch some flicks. That was the first real fist-in-the-face exposure of the weaknesses of the K Store that has left me scarred.

I do think that with time and acceptance there's still great value to K and the K Store offerings. And, I can even understand why they make some decisions even if I don't agree with them. But, the hype is a bit out of control and people join in with expectations that won't be met. I honestly try not to be a downer (rough this time of year) but do try to measure expectations for prospective buyers. It IS great, and I'm glad I own one, but disappointment is often a part of the new user experience. More than I think it needs to be.

I admit, I did not spend as much time as I should have researching what exactly K had on its store...I was simply excited to finally have a price point where i could get into K and the handful of top choice movies I looked up all were available at the best possible version/quality....and all I had seen and read in terms of feedback and reviews were spitting out the company line of "The Ultimate Movie Platform". IMO skating close to false advertising.

If I had taken the time to really research specific movies that we as a family like to watch over and over I probably would have made a difference choice. Seeing so many SD titles of movies I either have HD or even 4k version on other forms is extremely disappointing.

I had fully expected to have buyers remorse...but during first few weeks...not over a year later. :(

I personally don't regret my investment in K when I think of it is a "long term investment". I admittedly thought initially it would be the key to replacing my rather large physical media collection as I just assumed as it was billed that everything and anything being offered elsewhere in HD and 4K would be available (wrong and shame on me). That being said I've resigned myself to the following: buy on K in 4K when possible, buy on 4K disc when needed, and buy on HD streaming when necessary.
