US BR & 4K Releases for March & April 2022

Also, regarding upgrade pricing -- we had a data error that led to some incorrect upgrade pricing on The Godfather, Part II. Apologies for that. It has been corrected and customers who paid the higher (incorrect) price will receive credit for the difference. If you ever suspect a pricing error, please contact support@kaleidescape.com for assistance.

Having said that, there is a difference in upgrade pricing between The Godfather, Coda and the other two movies (with Coda being higher). As I think most of you know, upgrade pricing is title specific, and the original films being "catalog" titles can have different upgrade rules than Coda, which is considered a new version.

Thanks Mike. It does seem a little odd that if one purchased Coda from the store in December that the upgrade would be 21.00

How about Dead Alive directed by Peter Jackson.
I miss this title so badly. Is there any chance for this one to come up in the near future?

The following have been added:

In HD from Warner Media
In UHD/HDR with Dolby Atmos from Magnolia Pictures
In HD with DTS-HD MA 5.1(Italian)/Dolby Digital 5,1(English) from Sony

Pretty miffed about The Burning Sea. I bought this when it came out at the end of last month for $14.99 (full price) and now K has updated it to 4K HDR and is selling it for the same price, but if I want the 4K HDR version my "upgrade" price is almost $14. So now I would have to pay nearly twice the price for a movie that looks like it should have just been released in the proper resolution/format to begin with. Wildly ridiculous.

I was scanning through the 4k version of Godfather and noticed that the closed captions are not coming up when they are speaking Italian. The subtitles are set to English (Default). Is there something that I don't have set correctly?

The only scene that would have had them would be the scene in the restaurant when there is a brief exchange in Sicilian, but there are no subtitles in the original film. IIRC, Coppola didn't want subtitles because he felt it was a very short exchange, and subtitles would distract from the drama of the scene.

Regarding title availability, we are always adding new content to the movie store. Because of our hands-on “curated” approach in which we have human reviewers review every 4K title that we add, this is a resource- and time-intensive process. We review all upcoming 4K releases and schedule this work according to which titles will be of most interest to our customers - based on playback activity, imports, HD sales, and the comparable sales of similar 4K titles, as applicable.

Regarding Final Fantasy specifically:

I just double-checked, and Final Fantasy is currently available in our US and Canada stores in HD. It is not available in the UK store at this time.

Also, because I know there have been a couple of questions regarding The Godfather, Part III, the studio made the decision to replace that title with The Godfather, Coda, so that is the only version of the film available to license.
The 4K disc box set includes the Part III in 2 different cuts (other than Coda) in 4K. This is an interesting decision on the studio.
