Hope I can find a fellow Mac user that might be able to advise me on how to troubleshoot my Terra. I had trouble finding a movie and discovered my Terra had disappeared from my Strato system. Got in touch with K and they were great and sent me some instructions to pull some data they might be able to use to help discover the problem. Unfortunately, it appears written for use with Windows laptops.
As I understand it, I pull some data from the Strato via the mini-usb on the back in the "verbose" mode that supposedly provides more in-depth info. Failing that, I clear the CMOS on the Terra, which appears to be a simple process, and try again. When I mentioned I used an Apple laptop, the tech advisor said I might be able to do it in "Terminal." As I have zero knowledge of what to type at the command prompt, I went looking for app that might automate it a bit. Found a PuTTY app for Macs, but thus far no luck. I figure both pieces must be connected to the switch or resetting the CMOS wouldn't matter regarding the success of the data pull from Strato and I had disconnected the Strato from the network. That was a likely error I will correct when I give it another try in the morning. Thought I would also ask the pros for their thoughts. Any tips would be appreciated.
I'd also appreciate any info on the likely nature of the problem. Is there ANY problem with the Terra that isn't going to be expensive to fix? The Terra gets power, no illuminated lights that would indicate a problem, etc. Understand from other readings, a drive issue would not cause the Terra to disappear from the system, so I'm still hoping it's a correctable software glitch.
Thank you
